I have been using the Raven MTi2 for a few months and have a short list of things I would like to present for consideration:
The "Internal Mixer" is not well implemented. The alignment is often getting "off" and meters disappear. Also, I can only bank once before the faders just end on large sessions. The internal mixer faders end and the regular Pro Tools faders show up instead. Can this be improved?
I really like the "External Mixer" much better for most things. However, for several years I have relied on the K-20 meters in Pro Tools. The external mixer only shows digital peak meters. Can the external mixer be changed to show the various meter options that are available in Pro Tools. When tracking and getting levels, I rely heavily on the "Internal Mixer" for this reason. I would rather stay with the External Mixer for everything. See above.
I really like how the sends are presented in a console-like fashion. However, the limitation of only having sends "a" through "e" available is a real problem for me. Is it possible to include sends "f" through "j"? This would be extremely helpful.
Fader movement is hit and miss sometimes. Too course in general. "Fine Fader" mode can be helpful. Would it be possible to have a "graduated" fader, where broad, fast movements are course, and slow, small movements are automatically finite?
Often, when I place my finger on the screen the fader will jump. Same thing when I lift my finger off the screen. I work hard to get the fader right where I want it, then I lift my finger and the fader jumps. This can be really frustrating. Can this be eliminated?
I really enjoy many things about the Raven system, and I appreciate all the hard work that has gone into implementing and making improvements. This system has a lot of potential and these suggestions are meant to encourage the improvement of an already good system.
Anybody else have any suggestions?
