Hi Folks,
In all the Raven installations I have done previously, I have never had to install Python.
Up untill yesterday Protools 2023.9 with Avid HD Driver and Raven were playing the best they have ever been.
Yesterday as I was having Multi Monitor issues, which may or may not have been attributed to me installing a new WiFi Bluetooth card on my 5,1 Cheesegrator Mac Pro (Monterey stopped supporting this).
Anyway maybe some power was taken away from the Power Supply by the new Wifi/Bluetooth PCI slot on the backplane, because the 4 (5) monitors (The main monitor was split to the Voice over booth) were working perfectly till then.
Anyhoo, because all the monitors were jumping around finding resolutions and frequencies etc, as part of the troubleshooting I reinstalled the Raven Package. At the end of the instal, a PYTHON 2.7.18 installer package asked to be installed.
(I resolved the issue of Monitors afterwards by removing the split to the Voice over Booth.... but the booth will be an issue for the new Monterey version of Sidecar or Reflector or anydesk...I digress)
The Python installer caused all sorts of issues with Pro Tools and permission saving and crashes .
After much research I find that Python 2.7x has reached end of life.
I uninstalled Python only to find that Raven depends on it. and will not launch without it.
I never had to do this before.
What gives ?
Is there a more modern version of Python we can use with the Raven with a simple installer that may not make my Pro Tools mess up?
I tried the whole crusitil disable thing to get my write permissions back and I can now save, but now Protools is extremely unstable.
Please Help
Bill
