I joined the Slate Audio Dojo yesterday and saw many posts from concerned users about issues with Raven, and the moderator kept saying, “It’s coming and going to be great, it will be here in 2023” This was on older posts of course but now I’m wondering, we’re almost into September of 2023 and no inkling of when 4.0 Raven will be released. I see plenty of ads on Facebook about the VSX products which is great for those users, but nothing about Raven. So is Slate scaling back support on Raven? Jamey Zebrack does a great job answering questions and offering solutions on this forum, but we’re still not hearing anything from Slate Audio. So, does anyone know anything concrete about the release of Raven 4.0? I love Raven (I have 2 MTI 2’s) and would certainly hate to leave it but I feel a company has an obligation to improve their products going forward for the benefit of their customers, otherwise the product will be abandoned and their customers will be left with expensive, unusable products. Just my opinion…..

I'm also eagerly awaiting V4.0. But it looks like there will be a 3.9.9.01 before that.... and version 4.0 will be a long time coming. Basically, the current version of the Raven software is OK. There are still a few bugs here and there, but basically it's okay. The fact that V4.0 is a long time coming is largely due to Apple and its constant "we have to reinvent everything on the operating system delusion!" After almost every update from Apple I have mega problems with the Raven software. I can imagine that Slate will give up annoyed at some point and take the Raven out of the program.

RAVEN is still in full-time Development and we just released RAVEN 3.9.8 last week which fixed a bunch of stuff with the latest Logic update and Language support and added Atmos surround mixer alignment in Pro tools. Right before that we released RAVEN 3.9.7 which finally unlocked full on gesture support for Windows, so RAVEN has had some great updates this year already. I So, does anyone know anything concrete about the release of Raven 4.0? It is impossible to give release dates for Software Development as so many things have to fall into place with Marketing, Website updates, Release Videos, Dealer Pages, Support Pages, Manuals, training videos, and the software has to pass a few rounds of beta testing as well. |
