is there already an appointment when RAVEN 4.0 will be released? What are you looking for in 4.0 that you can't do in 3.9 We are unable to provide release dates for software as there are so many changes and updates that are unexpected that change these dates.

Not to jump in on ELBINGO's post but here's a few thoughts (some of which I've raised before- sorry to be redundant). I'm trying to ween myself off my 8 button trackball and keyboard- not an easy feat. But the new gestures are a good step in the right direction. I use the floating mixer almost exclusively so these points deal mostly with that
1- Scalability of the floating mixer. You can keep it 24 channels but if I can make it a tad smaller that would be great.
2- Move the 4 character name field over to the left under the fader (instead of in the middle) and in the space left over allow the user to put icons or labels or color labels or any jpg. 2b- Alternatively, since you can’t yet get color info through HUI, allow the user to assign a color to the track. Yes I know it’s redundant, but it’s better than having a non color adjustable mixer, and if you set it up with templates like PT, it’s probably not that redundant.
3- Batch commander- along the bottom of the mixer I need a row to put my most used buttons. Again, any icons, labels, color, anything that I can copy/paste as a button identifier. The size of which should all be like the solo/ mute buttons on the mixer - or perhaps scaleable as well widthwise.
4- More tabs at the top, to access less used controls- they could be user created. At least one Page to do sends instead of having to go to the bigger mixer. A tab to turn the floating mixer into a temporary floating pallet of various other less used user controls.
5- Fix the sends to follow the scrolling.
6- Fix the fine faders to follow the scrolling
7- get both pans together above the fader in the pan tab (For Pro Tools). Perhaps use sliders instead of knobs. Or at least if we have use a separate button, make that button available on the floating mixer.
8- Allow the user to assign gestures to the mixer. So that I can get rid of the dbl tap to bring fader to unity every time I rapidly hit mute then solo and scare the bejesus out of me.
9- better scripting to allow users to assign the macros to all the new UPDD gestures. I’m currently using Keyboard Maestro which does a better job at the moment, but it would be grand to keep it all within the Raven
10- I realize you can’t get any better resolution meters, but the graphics could be improved. Perhaps square instead of round tiny dots, or bigger round dots?
11- AND FOR THE GRAND PIECE DE RESISTANCE - figure out a way to get scripts to access all the mini menus in PT.
Thanks for all you do here.

I like it a bit better than Keyboard Maestro. flexi-deck.com/Also, all the menu items for PT are already in the user quick list.. Which one are you looking for?

Hi, Thanks for the Flexi Deck tip - I will ck it out. I do like the pallets for KM. I use those in place of the Batch Commander, I can use Icons, resize the pallet, keep it small and out of the way etc. There's a lot that can be scripted better if we had access to the mini menus. The one I was trying this week was a way to improve the "group tracks" idea using the memory locations. This works well until you start adding tracks. The memory location does not automatically update. But there is the mini menu at the top of the TRACKS panel that has "Show All Tracks" but the only I can get to it is to do a screen recording. (AFAIK) But since that panel is re-sizeable, there is no guarantee that the little drop menu will be in the same place. So screen recording in this case is not reliable. If I can get it to automatically select "Show All Tracks" as well as "Hide Selected Tracks" I can script it so that hitting a button could actually combine groups instead of just showing one group at a time. So you could have just Drums or just guitars, or add them both etc. Hope that made some kind of sense. Thanks.

No matches when I search for Click Track List Menu in the quicklist. Best I could find is a Show /Hide Track list.

Hey Jamey - I apologize in the advance for the length of this. Hopefully you'll find it intriguing and slightly entertaining. Ok- That Track List Menu works great. 1- Question: How did you do it? A screen recording won't find it if you resize the Tracks List Panel. So what kind of sorcery are you using, because I resized the panel and it clicked it every time.
2- Sadly now that I can use that to also get to the rest of that menu, (I see you also have Hide Selected Track as a Macro in the Quicklist) I find that while PT will hide a Folder and it's contents, - when you go to show them again by selecting "Scroll To Track" it doesn't restore the hidden Folder contents. (although if you click the freakishly tiny dot to the left of the name it does hide and restore all the tracks in the folder)
3- Here's what we're trying to do. I spend a good amount of time scrolling up and down the tracks, so until you figure out a way for us to add color to the floating mixer which would help a lot, (no- the overlay on the PT mixer doesn't work for me. - I like to work with the small floating mixer at the bottom of my Edit screen) So the next best thing is to use your Group Tracks solution by using Memory Locations. This should work great with Folders, except that if tracks are added to the folders, you have to update the memory locations again. (dull work- Although I have a macro that does that too, but that's another story) 3b- What would really be cool is to instead of simply recalling memory locations. We can add or subtract folders (and their contents even if they are added later) so that you can have any combination of tracks on screen. Just Drums, or Drums AND Vocals, and then remove Drums and have Vocals and Keyboards, or Keys AND Drums AND Vocals etc. 4 Here's how we do the Macro. - And when I say we, I mean mostly you and your sorcery techniques. I almost did it and you'll see where I ran into a wall. (I also tried using Flexi-Deck which I'm waiting to hear back from them as well because that almost worked too)
Step 1 [ SHOW A FOLDER That's Hidden ] - Option Command F - Type in name of Folder ( if you use the same set of Folders all the time, then the folder name can be included in the Macro) - Return - That restores a Folder. Step 2 [ HIDE A FOLDER] - Option Command F - Type in name of Folder - Return - This brings the Folder to the top of the EDIT window - It doesn't help us in the MIX window, so all this has to happen in the Edit window. - Here's my problem - CONTROL CLICK THE FOLDER NAME AT THE TOP OF THE EDIT WINDOW -(to bring up the sub-menu which automatically selects HIDE) - Return (this hides the Folder and it's contents.)
This mostly works using a screen recording until you start adding or subtracting rulers at the top of the window. This moves the tracks up or down slightly and no longer conforms to the X Y location. Unless of course there's another magical way to Control Click the first track at the top to get to that menu.
So now you're saying well, what's the diff if you select HIDE SELECTED TRACKS from the Tracks List submenu or HIDE from the Submenu when you Control Clik a Track name (either in the Tracks List or directly on the track name in the session) Well apparently they work differently. At least in PT V 2021.3.1. If we get that to work, you can not only show or hide any Folder but ALSO combination of Folders without having to update anything if you add tracks to the Folders later.
I'm sure that's crystal clear.

(although if you click the freakishly tiny dot to the left of the name it does hide and restore all the tracks in the folder) We use pixel detection and AX applescripts to access all the buttons and menu in PT for the Batch Commands this way it isn't X/Y based and will always work. "But", you get that funny white menu window in PT once you tap into their AX API. Check out the "Show Menu of Selected Track" Batch Command to open the sub menu options for that track. Then you can use the "hide" option. As for updating the Memory Locations , there is a Batch Commands that does the whole process so if you add tracks or remove tracks you could just hit the Batch Commands and it overwrite the Memory Locations with the updated one. I go over it a bit in this video. oh yeah, I also just dropped a macro video on my Patreon going over how script macros in Batch Commands, FlexiDeck, and SoundFLow. Here is the teaser video and full video at www.patreon.com/jzilla ..

Slate is sooooo slow RAVEN 3.9.4 is compatible with Monterey 12.2 so grab the installer from your Slate Account here my.slateaudio.com/However Pro Tools and other DAWs don't yet support Monterey 12.2 so best to check with the manufacturer before updating.

Hi, the new Cubase 12 doesn't work now with RAVEN, only Cubase 11... Do you think, it will be supported soon? Thank yo Sorry to say we don't yet support Cubase 12 so you will want to stick with Cubase 11 for RAVEN until RAVEN 3.9.5 comes out with Cubase 12 support in a few weeks or so. In the meantime you could open Cubase 11 and the RAVEN toolbars, then close 11 and open 12 while keeping the RAVEN toolbars open and hitting Cancel when the RAVEN asks to Quit. However, I imagine the RAVEN Internal Mixer won't align and there could also be other functionality not yet incorporated.

Jamey
I just watched a video on YT where you demoed 4.0, but it's about a year old. Is there any update on when this will be released? I'm only showing the installer for 3.9.8 in my portal.

Probably after NAMM 2024 we will release RAVEN 4.0. Can you hit up support and send me the link you found of RAVEN 4.0 so I can have it hidden? slatemediatechnology.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Hey Jamey,
Do you have links from NAMM where you demo the new 4.0 software?
