What is the estimated release date for the M1 (Apple Silicon) Big Sur version of Raven and BC. Any Ideas when I can use my new Mac Mini (M1).

Eager to know as well. I haven't attempted to install the Raven software on this M1 machine yet. I'm hoping, at the very least, that I can use the touch screen functionally with my Ravens until the actual software is updated. Incidentally, I've been thinking about checking to see if SSD 5.5 will run on Rosetta 2 as well. isapplesiliconready.com/for/musicduncanrigby I shot you a message yesterday regarding your experience so far.

Jamey.. I've installed the Raven software on this M1 mini but it hasn't seemed to install or recognize a touch driver. I'd followed along again with the installation video and approved each prompt, but I'm getting "No registered devices" in UPDD Status. I'm not getting the Allow prompt for Touch-Base driver in Security & Privacy for some reason, but I've checked on each item otherwise. Not much of a surprise, I guess. I'm just left wondering if I've missed something though, as well. The USB Touch Controller devices are showing up in System Report.
Incidentally, I'm also not getting touch to work natively under MacOS either. Any ideas?

But perhaps you will need to reach out to UPDD as I am not sure if they support Big Sur M1 at all. Else to unblock the kext. First, you must reboot your system into the recovery environment. To do so, invoke a system restart and hold down the keys Command + R right before it reboots. Don't let go of the keys until you see the Apple logo or a spinning globe. Wait for the system to reboot into the recovery environment. If it works, you should see a window like this: 1. Once that window appears, pick the Utilities menu in the menu bar, and then select "Terminal" 2. When the terminal window opens, enter the following command: spctl kext-consent disable 3. Open the Apple menu and pick "Restart" to reboot your computer. 4. Open a terminal Window and execute sudo kextload /Library/Extensions/tbupddmxhid.kext UPDD should now be able to function as normal.

I followed the re-install of UPDD on my Mac Mini M1 from "severe" with the new download , it it stopped twice asking for permissions, I simply re ran it, three times in to total one after the other without uninstalling UPDD each time , it just overlaid and ended up working.
however my RAVEN 3.8 on Big Sur M1 (mac mini) did not fire up. looking at that.

RAVEN, V-Control Pro, and UPDD will not work on the M1 ARM chip. Users will have to wait a few months for support from all 3 companies.

And not a minute too soon.
Not a slight at you, Jamey. You’ve been helpful and I appreciate your contribution here, but one of the leading manufacturers of computers officially began its transition to a new chip nearly 7 months ago with their Quick Start Program, enabling developers to build and test their apps. Maybe someone should have started a GoFundMe to raise the $500 for the cost of the program? I’da contributed. Three companies with the foresight of a goldfish?
Meanwhile I’ve got pretty much everything else needed for me to continue recording music on this M1 machine. Each of my apps are working in some capacity. A few better than ever. Including those that required updating compatibility with their hardware products, kernel level software, and plugins. My RAVEN CORE Station is currently housing two 27” “world-class Raven touch panels” relegated to conventional displays for now. I’ve no interest in firing up my Intel MBP for the sole purpose of using touch.
Just say’n. Please catch up quickly and thanks for all your help here. And before someone claps back with "It's customary to stay a year or two behind the OS upgrades", etc. I know. I do. What I’m saying is these three companies are last to this particular party.

All of this is making me glad I'm determined to hold out on the Apple Silicon Macs until the 16" comes out with 12 -16 cores. I'm a bit bummed but not surprised that it will take some time to get four different companies to get on board and get M1 support.

Jamey,
Any update here? I've done a bit of research and saw your GS post "no audio company support the M1 ARM64 chipset currently" posted 1/27. That's entirely untrue, as I'd posted weeks prior right here that, in fact, the companies I use do support, at least to the point of having things able to run, the M1 chipset; UAD, Avid, even other Slate products, etc. But I'm not here to argue the matter. Could you please let me know if or when my MTi's can or will, at the very least, be able to utilize conventional touch on the newest Macs? Never mind support for anything else.
I'd contacted UPDD back in January for assistance and they were not able to help due to not having an M1 Mac to test. We're closing in on 5 months now since the M1's release. Could you please assist or update me on how to get my control surfaces working with touch control? duncanrigby was kind enough to suggest a method that seemed to have gestures working for him that required installing the latest version of UPDD (06.00.668 at the time) and then reinstalling an older version (06.00.537 at the time) immediately after, which process needs to be redone after each reboot of the computer. Of course RAVEN doesn't work but touch does with this method, allegedly. I'm not even sure of the current UPDD driver, as this entire thing has been an incredible hassle and I've not recently checked.

Never mind support for anything else. yeah, RAVEN 3.9 works on Apple M1 currently, so start a support ticket to get the latest version. Apple(Logic) actually broke all the control surface API's, so no control surface works with Logic on M1 currently which is pretty sad and I'm not sure if Apple/Logic have made any headway on this. So V-Control Pro will not work with Logic on M1 Arm64 so that means the RAVEN software will not be able to connect to V-Control Pro. Pro Tools finally released Big Sur support on Friday so that is a step in the right direction, although Avid still claim they don't support M1 Arm64 yet and will probably be a few more months as there are still some pretty big bugs with PT on M1. Now PT may "work" on the M1, but it isn't supported so if users find any bugs they will not be able to fix them until it is fully supported. Also, Trigger 2 still isn't supported on Big Sur/M1 yet and there are a few other companies still working on Big Sur / M1 support from what I have seen.

Thank you, Jamey. I've started the support ticket. Shame about Logic, though I'm on PT at the moment while looking forward to LUNA support, once compliant. Bugs are expected, but at least we've some progress here. Looking forward to it.

Jamey,
Are you able to use both of your Raven screens? For some reason UPDD Console only enables one screen. Both Ravens and my conventional screen (up top) are recognized within the app, but only one Raven can be identified as a touch device (only the left screen circle turns blue). I've disconnected and switched USB inputs, and that identifies the Raven that wasn't previously identified (now only the right screen circle turns blue), so I know the connections are made properly and it doesn't appear to be a hardware/connection issue.
Am I forgetting something?

Solved. Sort of.
The issue seems to be a Targus Docking Station with DisplayLink software used to get the three monitors working on an M1 mini. It'd really not been much of an issue until now. But it makes sense. No splitter, technically. The unit has dedicated video outs. Everything works otherwise but, yea, I guess the additional USB functionality is a bit too much to get both Ravens working with touch.
I'm OK for now. I'll keep an eye open for options and success stories. I'll resort to just the single screen for touch here, as it seems to be working fine, until the newest Macs are released.
