Hi everyone
Has anyone had any success in importing their own custom channel icon pictures?
I have only found a few JPEG pictures that actually work.
At first I thought great I can simple take a photo say of the soloist with my iPhone and import it into my picture folder then browse to it from raven - but alas it doesn't work.
I have found that raven is very fussy with the kind of JPEG's it accepts but I don't know how to create these.
Can anyone help here with what settings / app / export path to use to make this work?
Perhaps it's a bug?
I've had a search but haven't found any documentation on this.

Somehow I am able to get it to work by using Screenshots. So on all my aux buses and master faders I took a screenshot of the piece of gear on the Aux. My screenshots are set to PNG and seem to work with raven. So maybe take a screenshot of the Iphone Photo. or try to convert to PNG.

Thanks Jamey Z I'll try that.
I did try exporting the JPEG to PNG within the Preview app without success.
It would be good if the library of icons was expanded to include all common instruments.
Perhaps someone has their own library of custom icons that they would be willing to share.
Obviously this is something that the Raven team are likely to be working on?
We have only just started out with our new Raven spreading it's wings last night with a sound check!
A few bugs to iron out but so far so good

OK i have tried to make screen shots work but with very limited success.
I have now setup on a different computer (iMac)in my home studio and am having the same problems as on Mac Pro.
I browsed and added one screen shot into palette OK, then tried adding a JPEG.. This then caused the original screen(PNG)shot to disappear from palette and the JPEG also didn't import. Now if i try to import the screen shot again it simply will not!!!!
This computer has the latest 2.0.4 software fresh installed.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Obviously there is a bug here...

Hi there ...,
RE; ICONS ..., a few questions regarding organising ?
Q1 - Where exactly on the hard drive are the icons stored ? (ie; both the Ravens icons and our Custom Icons)
...., I have made a heap of Custom Icons, and they are all sitting in the custom section of the Icon palette,
There is about 150 Custom Icons in there but they are all jumbled up in no particular order ......, ( see Q-2 )
Q2 - Is it possible to move the Icons I created in the custom section , over to the ravens tabbed areas in the icon palette ? (example ; Id like to have my custom made guitar Icons moved to the Guitar "TAB" if possible)
....., as this would make them easier to locate.
Q3 - Is it also possible to create more TABs in the Icons Palette ?
....., for example, TABS for ; Brass , Strings , woodwinds , Ethnic , Bass - etc etc

So Far.................., I have found this location .....,- open finder- click; mackintosh HD- click; on GO (in the top taskbar ), while holding down option at the same time ..., to reveal a HIDDEN library folder , - from library ..., go; Application Support / Slate Media Technology / Raven Mti / Customicons / Pro Tools / Single / Pro Tools 11 / .............................., From here you see 4 folders ; 1 - labled 2 - labledMTi 3 - MTi 4 - MTx Strange Goings on  Now heres where I am confused ??- All these folders seem to contain the Custom Icons I SAVED yesterday ...., ( ie ; all the screenshots I opened and saved into the Icon Palate custom tab) ............, Now when I open up the icon palate (in Raven) , I no longer see any of my saved custom Icons inside of the icon Palatte ?? Where have all my Icons gone & disappeared too ?
Why do they no longer appear in the customs tab ? ......, ( note; they are still in those folders mentioned above ) Also worth mentioning; I saved the ravlay from yesterday ........................................................................................................, ( ie; the ravlay where I had completed loading stacks of new custom icons into the custom icons tab (page) of the ravens -icon palate , and placed many of these icons onto selected tracks) ..., and If I load that ravlay into the protools project I was working on yesterday (ie; when I saved the ravlay) , I am noticing that all my custom icons are still showing on their selected tracks as expected ......., BUT ..., What is strange is......., - While I have those custom Icons appearing on my selected tracks..., if I also open up the Icon Palatte within this saved ravlay , theres is NONE of my saved custom icons showing up in the Icon Palette (under the customs tab) ? |

I had Trevor have a look at my system yesterday and he's looking into it.
Similar things are happening to me like what you are describing.
Obviously a bug.
Hopefully there will be a solution soon.

Kind Regards, — Trevor Fedele RAVEN Software Specialist Slate Media Technology // Slate Digital LLC trevor@stevenslate.com Desperately waiting for this bug fix to fix the icon issue ..........., and I also hope it fixes the other bug where the faders randomly decide to stay grey .., even when you realign everything - ie; with the line with the red line on the left , im finding this only works sometimes). Restarting Raven , or recalibrating the touch screen is not working either. Ive tried the other bug fix work around where ( as other users suggested) toggling the 24tracks left and right buttons back to the start restores the grey faders to the original track custom colours , ..........., but this also only works "sometimes" - and today nothing is working, and I have tried for an hour  ..., this has driven me up the wall so much its zapped away my creativity drive that Ive decided to cancel my day in the studio. Unfortunately - so far most commonly used button is "hide Raven" ..., hopefully this update will make me want to start using it. |

I know this is an OLD thread. But its April 2019 and this hasn't worked properly for me in YEARS. Was it ever fixed in any meaningful way?
