Hi guys ,
I recently installed Protools 12.2.0 ..., and then opened an old PT 11.3.1 project only to lose all my previous Icons - even when loading the saved raven .ravlay file from its stored location .
(Note; I guess I expected this though as the "saved as" Raven file was from Pro Tools 11 , not a Pro Tools 12 project)
But thats not my question ...,
Once the old Pro Tools 11.3.1 project was opened in Pro Tools 12.2.0 ....,
- I gave that project (which was originally recorded in PT 11.3.1, but is now opened in PT 12.2.0) - A fresh new set of icons to go with Pro Tools 12.2.0 ,
- Followed by saving that raven Project via "SAVE AS" (in the settings rack) and stored that . ravlay file within a special custom folder (located within that songs Protools project folder) .
(ie; So I could easily load the raven . ravlay file - whenever I re-open that project at a later date)
Now I have a problem with either ;
- My execution , or with the raven ? ......., (troubleshooting time)
My Problem ;
- If I decide to open a new protools Project in Pro Tools 12.2.0 ..., (while leaving the Raven open - but having already saved the project that I wish to exit as a .ravlay file beforehand)
- I cannot load that saved Raven Project file (.ravlay) at a latter date - by using the "load Raven sessions button" located in the raven setting rack ?
......., As when I do this , my ICONS from that project will not load ?
This leads me to believe ...,
- That the only way possible to NOT lose my icons to cyberspace is - it looks like I have to completely close my Raven (ie; by holding the ravens off button until the save project window appears)
Then ...,
- Click Yes (in the exit raven / save project widow) , and once this is done - then Raven completely closes altogether.
Then ...,
I can go ahead and open the new pro tools 12.2.0 session , followed by loading in the "saved Raven file" for that project.
It seems to me so far that ..., (unless I am doing something wrong here ? )
If I switch to a new pro tools project (ie; while leaving Pro Tools open) - and ..., without first saving and completely closing / shutting down the raven , (ie; after saving via the ravens "shutdown text window")
- then I will lose that projects raven ICONS next time I open and load that protools project again , (even though I loaded in its previous saved .ravlay file ) ....,
I am confused , Is this the ONLY way to NOT lose my icons next time I decide to later re-visit a project ?
I have now just installed the latest release of Pro Tools version 12.2.1 ,
..., and I will open all my unfinished 2015 projects in pro Tools 12.2.1 and ...,
- give each project "new Raven Icons again"
- save them again as a .ravlay ,
- and THEN shut down Raven completely before re-opening any other protools projects.
..., But I am hoping and praying that in Pro Tools 12.2.1 that I can manage switching between protools projects (and not later lose the icons)
- Without first having to first shutdown the raven between switching pro tools projects
..., Please - any tips guys ? ....., and sorry guys for the lengthy post
