Good morning friends. Just demoing Batch Commander today and am really impressed with it so far. If I can get some clarification on this issue and make it work, I'll buy it instantly because of how much time it will save me.
Can someone point me in the right direction for creating a command to Vocalign tracks properly? I've been toying with the Vocalign-related Quicklist commands (Open Vocalign and Capture Guide and Align 8 Dubs, Vocalign Guide and One Dub, Vocalign Part 2 Repeat As Needed, And VA Spot and Align) to try and build a sequence that will open Vocalign, import a guide and dub track, print the dub, then move down a track and continue until it's done.
So far, I've only had luck getting the VA Align and Spot command to work, which is nice in VA Project, since it saves me a click, but I Vocalign so often that I would LOVE to be able to just highlight a section of vocals and hit a button to have it do it's thing. The other three commands don't seem to lock onto the plugin or the audio regions correctly. They always have the mouse clicking just below the correct buttons, and anytime it misses it removes the selection I had made previously. There's a video online of someone doing it with the Raven, so I assume it's possible just using Batch Commander itself.
If anyone has any insight into how I can get this working, I'll be THOROUGHLY grateful. Thanks guys!

I just started messing with a demo of vocalign Project and found all these clicks work.. VOCALIGN CLICKS.zip (2.4 KB) quick hint: if certain clicks aren't working, try any other click in the post tab.. Just because it saw "Click D-Verb" doesn't mean it will only work for D-Verb.. IT ACTUALLY CLICKS "GUIDE" ON VOCALIGN PROJECT.. YEAH!!! here are a couple more clicks that work for Voc Project.. I found that Guide and Capture and Spot and Capture work well in Vocalign Project.. Also It seems that "Render Audi Suite Plugin" will actually click spot.. hope this helps..

yes... can we please get a an "Align" BC for Vocalign Project? I tried lots of audiosuite clicks and none seem to get it...
There is currently a known bug with VocAlign Project and Pro Tools 11 where if you don't click "Align"before you click "spot" it adds like 10 seconds of silence to the end of the spotted clip. So without the "Align" button it's not nearly as helpful

This has helped SO much! Thank you jameyz for the clicks. This has allowed me to get the entire process sequenced out. The only issue I'm having now is getting the cursor to move down after each. I think it's to do with the key command ( happening while Vocalign is capturing the clip. I think I just need to get the ms delay right in the command and I should be in business! And garrettmiller1, the VA Align and Spot command in the Post section is the answer you're looking for! I discovered that in my bumbling.

Try using "wait for 4th window to close" then u won't need delay time. It should just move on after the render is done. And the render window closes

jameyz, I think the 4th window command is the key to everything. The only issue I'm having is that once the first Vocalign render window (Guide, in this case) closes, the process hangs. The only way for me to continue it is to open the top right system tray icon and X out the Wait Until 4th Window Closes command. It then moves along perfectly like it should until the next iteration of that command. Any idea what or why that is? If I can solve this issue here, I'm home free, and this thing will have paid for itself with tonight's workload alone. Here's a screen capture of my specific command in Pro Tools 11. If I kill every 4th Window Wait command, it does just what it is supposed to do! I'm so close! Attachments:

Your gonna wanna make sure all other windows are closed. Only have the Edit/Mix/Voclign windows since that is 3 and the "Wait" is waiting for the 4th to close..
If that doesn't help i would either add 500-1000ms more delay between most the scripts.. I suppose if the selection is to small the "wait" won't kick in faster enough before the render is done..
hope this helps..

I tried adding some delay before the Wait command, since I didn't have any in my original sequence, but still the same result. It seems as though it is running, as you can see in the screen capture below. If I hit the X to the right, I can continue on, but it pops up every other command. Attachments:

Jamey Z, What's up man? I've been working with these scripts flawlessly ever since you helped me through this thread. Due to a catastrophic system crash, I had to upgrade to El Capitan and move to Pro Tools 12.4 from 11.3.1, where I was blissfully vocaligning like a soldier. Something, either Pro Tools 12 or El Capitan has broken these commands for me, and now it starts correctly by clicking the GUIDE and CAPTURE buttons, but from there it starts clicking the Audiosuite Preview button and the darkened Whole File button near CAPTURE in Vocalign Project. Any insight as to what may be killing my baby? This script saves me so much time, as I work with TONS of layered vocals that need aligning. Thanks for anything you've got! Attachments:

I would use "Align Front Window Top Left" then use the "Record" function to record a mouse click at the spots you need. This way the XY recorded clicks will always hit the right spot on vocalign. PT12 changed the UI info for "Render" and a couple other things, so I will try to track it down and add some VA fixes for PT12. What if you try the "Click Render" BC instead of the "Spot"?? Or if you can Right Click the Raven app and "show contents" and drop this into VA Dub Capture.workflow.zip (47.14 KB) /Applications/Raven MTi.app/Contents/Resources/Services/Automator/ProTools and replace the one that is there..

Trying this more tonight. I messed with the Record function last night, and it was cool, but I couldn't get it to correctly delay before moving the selection down. It kept wanting to jump to the next command, even though I was using Wait for 4th Window to Close. I think it's because I recorded myself clicking the GUIDE button as well as the CAPTURE button. Perhaps I'll have better luck if I just do the GUIDE button and CAPTURE on their own recordings. Thanks for the tips! Like last time, I think with enough tinkering, I can make this work like it did before. Awesome!

If you replace the one file I sent it should work like before.. I think You are right about the "wait" won't work with you own clicks... Also I added new VA clicks to next update, so you can use the smart scripts...

Jamey,
Sorry, I got sidetracked and am just now getting back on getting this working. I don't have a Raven, I'm just using Batch Commander. Do I have that file to replace? I wasn't able to find it.

Hi jameyz,
This thread has been super useful for me, I've just started programming my own Batch Commands and I started with these instructions on VocAlign Project. Just quickly, I've managed to make BC open VocAlign, capture the guide, select/capture the dub, but when using the "VA Align and Spot" command it clicks "Align" and then the audition button. I have managed to make it click "Spot" by using the "PT12 Click Spot Revoice Pro Apt", but i was wondering if I can make the command work without auditioning. I tried recording my own Click for it, but I don/t quite understand the how to make the X/Y axis thing work.
Thanks

Thanks Here are some other clicks to try , I bet we are on different Vocalign versions or something. voc.zip (10.38 KB) If you save a window configuration with Vocalign open it will always open in the same spot and then you can record a click. Then just recall the Windows Configuration before running the click.

Thanks Jamey,
I think the version is a problem, those clicks still don't seem to work with VocAlign Project 3 - the "Align" button is in a different place when I compare to a picture of VA4.
With recording my own clicks - I should have mentioned, I'm using a Raven MTi2. When I click the "Record" button it snaps the mouse cursor to where the "Record" button is on the screen. It wont let me press the "Window Config 1" button in the BC to open VocAlign. If VocAlign is already open and I record the click, it still moves the cursor from the "Record" button. Any tips?
