Not sure if I am doing something wrong but sometimes my icons don't save with the raven session. I think it usually occurs the next day/after a restart but not 100% sure.
Basically I am making my track layouts with the icons and saving them. I can close and reopen the session and they will still be there, but occasionally I'll open up a raven session and I will have lost all of my icons. I'll even go back to previous raven sessions which were fine and the icon space will be empty on these ones too!
I always make sure I save the raven session of course.
I'm not sure what else is/isn't saving along with the icons as that is the only thing that I have changing in my Raven sessions song to song.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

The track icon should actually pop up based on the name of the track on all sessions.. If you put it on a track called bass.. Any time u have a track with that name the icon will pop up..

Woah, this changes things. I'll need to investigate.
So this is regardless of which Raven session is running?

Hey DK, The icons are show up based on the track name. If there are mutiple tracks with the identical name the icon will appear in multiple spots. So yes it is regardless of the Raven sessions.

Hi Protoolsiwz,
Not quite sure what you are asking. Could you please clarify?

Hi, still having problems with track icons.
That's great that the icons are saved with track names so I can build that into a template.
However, I am occasionally losing all my track icons randomly while the raven session and pro tools session are both running. I don't actually see it happen, but when I flick back to the mixer at points i realise that they have all gone. It's not as though I have changed all the track names either?
Any help would be great.
Thanks

I mean the icons don't show up on the MTX MKII as we saw during a screen sharing session we had about a month and a half ago. The track icons and the raven birds that were seen on the mixer when using the MTI are not a feature on the MTX MKII is what I am saying. Also, I ran a session this past weekend using an MTI and an MTX MKII in dual mode. After a few attempts of calibrating the multitouch platform software I got it to work, however the MTI did not display the raven birds or track icons on the screen. Is the software not meant to be used this way (MTI and MTX in dual mode)? I will say mixing in 5.1 with a MTX and an MTI make things so fun, surround panning at my fingertips... Better than any joystick or surround panner I've ever used...

Yeah. I don't think MTX uses the Icons since they have more space for an extra set of inserts. So when running in dual mode it has to be One or the other..

Protoolswiz,
What Jameyz said is correct. Currently the MTX does not have the icons or the Raven Icon on each track.

That's a shame. I am going to miss my custom icons when I upgrade to the MTX MK 2.

I'm still having issues with these icons. The icons save normally when quitting pro tools and relaunching, but disappear completely after a restart.
Can someone go through how they save custom icons so I can see if I am missing something?
Thanks

Thanks The icons save with the Ravlay, so be save the ravlay when you add in the icons.. and be sure to load the same Ravlay after restarting.

Ok, so after a few days this sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.
I always save the ravlay, and always load the same one. Is this affected at all by the order in which you open/close Pro Tools and Raven?
Every now and then the icons just disappear!

This also happens to me - sometimes the saved ravlay will load and sometimes it refuses ..., its been completely random and unexplained ? (DK - I am also also using the exact same computer setup as you - except my Raven is an MTi-1)

I have been having luck, when saving icons with track names of 4 characters. Since the ravlay can only save the HUI name of 4 characters, I think this is the problem.. When trying to recall an Icon on a large track name. So far, everything is coming up fine when I restart as long as the track name is 4 characters... So Verb, Lead, Voxs, Slap, etc..

I am imagining you guys must currently be overwhelmed since the introduction of 3.0 (for many different DAWs) ..., - as thats now 10 times more support requests (and bug fixes) that you guys must now deal with (all at once). Although your support has been excellent (thx guys much appreciated) ...., I feel these version 3.0's (for all the DAWs) were all rushed out the door way too early. I do look forward to being able to use 3.0 once it's fixed (and out of its beta stage IMO) "as it has some great features" , but for now (to avoid any further interruptions to my sessions) I have already switched back to 2.5.1
