In Logic the default slate batch commander setup has a group of buttons that all relate to naming tracks. The top row of this group, variations of "Name tracks x4", works great. BUT for whatever reason the bottom row that has "Name Lead Vocals, BG Vocals, Copy Name..." commands do not work properly. The first 3 commands work (names the first 3 tracks as it should) but the 4th time does all this whacky stuff involving the main window going away and coming back, the play head moving, the automation lanes revealing themselves and disappearing, etc.
So, I thought maybe I had some key user customized key commands that were still in my key commands and that's why the script was freaking out. I deleted the key commands and re imported the slate key commands list.
Then I tried to use the same batch commands again, but had the same problem. I also tried to load these commands from the quick list into a user customized group and they still had problems going that route.
1. Is this a glitch anyone else is having?
2. Is there a way to open the scripts that are provided by slate to modify them myself? For example, changing the "Name Lead Vocal x4" to naming the tracks x8, without having to rewrite the whole script from the ground up?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks! fairly simple commands to name tracks.. Shouldn't use any custom key commands.. I am able to name and copy without problems.. 1. shift return 2. Vox 3. Return 4. Cursor Down youtu.be/c9wNnBMzTY8?t=1m19scheck out the quick start video on making your own naming commands.

So, I recorded a video demonstrating the glitch-ee-ness of what is going on with naming tracks and colors. I did exactly as prescribed in the video tutorials online, but the weird thing is that I have 5 functions to name tracks and color them with the exact same coding (the only difference being the names and the colors) and they all yield different results and glitches. Please watch the video I have attached and also take a look at the user batch commands that I have exported from the ones I demonstrate in the video... What am I missing with this?

These BC's seems to all work for me on my Logic 10.1 on OSX 10.9.5..
I think maybe you need more delay time after opening the color menu..
Try replacing Toggle Color with just "OPTION C" to open the color palette.. This way it should pop up a little faster..
Also when adding the "CNTRL SHIFT OPT \" that is used for coloring the region. So also try it with some regions selected..
Hope this helps..
peace
Also maybe some more delay time "200ms" for the Enter and Cursor down after naming...
It looked like a delay issue in the video.. Like the track color didn't pop up and the mouse went looking for it...
the other time looks like the return and cursor down went to fast...

Messing with the delay times seemed to fix the problem. I was perplexed why I would need to shift the delay times for one and not the other when the two batch commands are the same exact chain of code. I could be wrong, but the difference between them is that the names were longer in the one that didn't work, so maybe the computer needed more delay time after inputting a longer name and then going to the next track. Anyways, thanks for the help!

Update! While tweaking the delay fixed the problem for most everything, there was one actual glitch that I found. The quick list item "Make selected track blue" would not work unless I did the following: 1. Delete "Make selected track blue" from batch command 2. Replace it with "make selected track red" (or another color) 3. Run the batch commandant watch it change the track to red. 4. Go back into the code and put "make selected track blue" back in while deleting "make selected track red".
THEN the blue would work. Is it doing this on your end? It does it like clockwork for me :/
