Hi all,
So just updated to the new version and must admit I'm a bit freaked out by the size of the new buttons on the batch command - after months and months of finally settling on something that worked for me and my workflow with everything on one layout, now I can't even fit half of those commands in one "rack" and have to re-think everything from scratch (which at this point instead of saving me time is going to put me a couple days behind on work because I'll have to take some time off at some point to try to figure out how to fit what's crucial and not). Anyways, I wonder if I'm freaking in vain - is there a way to resize these? I really don't need them to be any larger than they used to be and I rather have more commands in one layout than have to re-think 5 layers. I assume this will be the case with Pro Tools as well once I open that up...
Please tell me there's a way to resize these? On the other hand, looking forward to automation and sends finally working on Logic so thanks for that!
Thanks!
Alex

Just as a side note so you know what I mean - I had what now needs 3 racks of buttons assigned to one rack only so I could do 95% of my work without having to open up extra racks and switch between more than 4 layouts, now I need 3 racks for the same amount of commands I use all the time (and not even include the layout button!).

Sorry for you having to redo your layouts.
I felt the same way at first.. then after using the new buttons for a day and being able to see the names easier I find it much easier to get around.. It is hard for me to work on the old buttons now..
Not sure, but you may find some space in the floating window..
Hope this helps..
Peace

Thanks for the reply Jamey! Too bad cause there's no way now where I can have all I need in one layout, which used to be the case, so now that I've figured out a new layout that works, I had to revert to using the keyboard/mouse for a good amount of my commands and/or turn a bunch of one button pushes into what now needs 2 (either opening a new rack, changing layout or opening floating window). Sad development in my opinion if I'm honest but what we gonna do...

Well, if anyone is keeping tabs regarding the smaller vs larger buttons, a week in I haven't felt having larger buttons is easier to see/push and I basically take twice as long to do stuff on the Raven (because what used to be in one rack now needs either another layer, for me to open/close the floating toolbar or to open/close another rack). So at the end of the day, I'm back to using my keyboard way more than I'd like (which was the reason for which I got a Raven, to avoid using the keyboard as much). Got to admit.. unhappy camper here but oh well, I know you can't please everyone.

Hello ootermind,
I just wanted to chime in here. It was a hard decision to determine the best method for release of the larger graphics. We had an overwhelming request for button size increase and the button text in particular being too small. We tried to do as much as we could to also warn users within your Slate Accounts that we had increased the size of the graphics and layouts may adjust. That being said, I have a couple workflow options I'd like to propose to help make your transition better.
1) RAVEN 2.1.1 is available in your Slate Account. If you're not ready to upgrade to the new graphics - you are welcome to continue on 2.1.1 to your preference.
2) The Slate Remote can increase your access to Batch Command visibility. By this - I mean you could set up one layout that you always keep loaded on your Slate Remote iOS Device and have all of your Batch Commands loaded and in one place. The you can utilize the RAVEN Toolbars for your touch tools and perhaps one panel of Batch Commands.
I do personally apologize for the inconvenience and I hope your transition improves.
Thank you,

Hi Matt, thanks for the answer! I completely understand that you can't please everyone and that if more people wanted larger buttons - that's the best thing for you guys to do - I'm very minimalist, have an empty white desktop where you don't even see the drives or any folders - my dock is as small as it gets, hate color sharpies on consoles and colors in my sessions etc haha, so I know that I'm probably on the side of camp that likes small and with very little info so I know this is my obsessiveness!
In any case, thanks for the proposed solutions, sadly I do like the update cause it fixes some bugs in Logic 10.1 and I know eventually I'll have to upgrade and the iPhone thing, while being fun when you're kind of laying back just listening, seems like the same as just using 2 buttons or the keyboard, so I'll adapt and be ok. I did like the smaller ones myself and do find myself using the keyboard more than I was but not considering getting rid of the Raven and still a fan of it for what I do use it (as well as for all other Slate products) and of course for reasons like you guys getting back to complaints in this manner!
Thanks again!
Alex
