I'm using a Raven MTi along side an Apple Thunderbolt display. Is there any way to have the Raven as the non primary display? I spend 90% of my time on my thunderbolt display in edit mode. This creates a problem because all pop up dialog boxes pop up on the primary display (Raven) and that disrupts my workflow.

As of now, Raven is gonna pop up on whatever side the Top Menu Bar is on.. i would try moving this menu bar to see if it will help your problem. I also use 2 screens and keep my edit window on my second screen that doesn't contain the Menu bar. But for me, as soon as i move a window Pro Tools recognized that I always want this window to open up to where i moved it. So the next time I open a plug-in or audio suite, it is in the correct spot.. Does this not happen for you??? In the future there will be a Dual Screen support for 1 Raven and 1 regular screen, then you will have a SWAP feature to swap Raven around to the screen without the menu bar. But due to different screen sizes for the second screen this is gonna take some ingenuity from the programmers.. peace

I currently have a Mac Mini with one Thunderbolt port. I have the Raven on HDMI and so Mac treats it like a secondary monitor. When I open Logic it always opens on the Raven because it remembers where I want it to open but the Raven software always opens on the Thunderbolt monitor and I cannot figure out how to move it as there is no where that I can see to grab and move it over to the Raven. Is there an easy solution for this?

You should be able to drag the top menu bar from display preferences over to the other window. This will force raven to open on other window..
Hope this helps

Hey Raven team, where are we at on being able to open Raven and have it appear properly on the RAVEN monitor and not have to have the RAVEN monitor as the primary display? Like everyone else on this thread, we have multiple monitors. Our workflow is to look at these monitors, the Raven is the MIXER - it's not the main window. Having all our dialogs and taskbars open there (because it's the "main display" with the top menu, is a major pain, as we're not looking to the side to the MIXER, we are looking at our primary displays.
Is there a way yet to get raven to open up on itself without it being the "primary display" - or to move it there?
I don't understand the "multiple screen" size being an issue - the Raven screen size and resolution is the same - you don't need to program for multiple monitors, you just need an ability to move Raven over to the MTI!

Since the Raven needs to be the main display by default, users may prefer to have other applications open on a different monitor than the Raven. To utilize all of Mac OSX display features with your Mac check out this article on how to setup spaces and desktops and force apps to open on each. slatemt.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115012022007-Mac-OSX-Spaces-Desktops-Using-Multiple-Monitors-with-the-Raven

Hi Jamey, thanks for that article, I know how Spaces work. This doesn't fix or answer my primary question - why does Raven have to be set to the primary monitor. This thread is YEARS old and at the beginning it's stated that this is "coming." Your article above doesn't fix my issue that when the primary monitor is the Raven, all of the things that Mac shows on the primary montir (spotlight, many program dialogs, etc) - all appear over on the Raven which is not in our field of view. We bought the Raven MTI to be a SECONDARY display, not take over as our primary. This makes it virtually unusabel for our setup, and if you don't have a rea solution, it is getting returned and we're not buying them for our other 3 stations.
This is an EASY fix - why don't you let the Raven control panel be draggable? If we could just drag it over to the Raven from the primary display - problem solved, no? It doesn't make sense in the year 2017 (now 2018) that you can't program a way for the Raven to recognize itslef and put it's control panel on that display. Forcing us to make the Raven the "primary" monitor just so it knows where to open is a lame workaround to getting your hands dirty for a second and figuring out this problem.

If you set the app to only open on that particular display the dialogs should open on that display. I also have no trouble opening spotlight on all my displays with "Spaces' selected. Perhaps you need to update the OS? As many of these display issues were probably solved by Apple with 10.12. Here is the link to start a support ticket for the Raven and perhaps we can get it working better for your workflow. slatemt.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=61177 We bought the Raven MTI to be a SECONDARY display, not take over as our primary. Sorry to hear this is going to make you return the units. Perhaps when we add this feature we can get you back on them.. This is an EASY fix - why don't you let the Raven control panel be draggable? Definitely not an easy fix, there are so many screen detection scripts happening that it would take our dev's quite some time to implement and then we would have to remake all of our videos/manuals and show these new functions work and their possible limitations. We plan on supporting this issue but have to take care of more pressing issues first. Such as updates for latest DAWS Cu9.5/Nu8/Pt12.9/Ableton10/HighSierra/etc. It will be an awesome feature and allow RAVEN to be implemented into various work flows, but so far it isn't a show stopper for most users.

Maybe a show stopper, maybe not. It's a major deterrent, that's for sure. As a relatively new user (first post) and someone that's beginning to get the hang of things with my MTi2, I can say with certainty that it's become a pain in the a** to have to continuously look to my left (non field of view) for far too many things.
I've done my best on this Windows PC to make it work, but having dialog boxes and the Pro Tools menu bar appear on a monitor other than my main sucks.

I've done my best on this Windows PC to make it work, but having dialog boxes and the Pro Tools menu bar appear on a monitor other than my main sucks. open the application, drag it to the screen you want it to open on, minimize it to half size (the middle square shape on the top far right - beside the X to close out the app or doc) and then close it out without maximizing it again. From now on it will open on that screen. Do this with anything you want to designate to a certain screen- and it will stay that way until you change it by repeating this process on a different screen. It isn't exactly a fix, but it is very helpful. answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-start-winpc/opening-programs-on-second-monitor-not-main/ebc1d56d-8b75-47d4-91b8-64ea71cc206a?auth=1
