I want my personalised Raven session layout to load as the default. The manual tells me to press the Set User Default button but I can't find one anywhere. There is a User Default button (as opposed to Set User Default) but that doesn't seem to do anything.
I can load my layout once I've started up but more often than not that causes all buttons to stack up on top of each other which takes an age to sort out, so I'm really hoping to avoid that.
I'm new to Raven so this is probably the first of many dumb newbie questions ....I apologise in advance!

Use the setting button to set the user default.
Peace.

Thanks Jameyz, I'm not sure what you mean though, the only buttons I have in relation to settings are; Load Raven Session, Save Raven Session, Save As, User Default and Restore Factory Default.
Cheers

Click "user default" and the open ravlay will become the default when opened.

OK, well that takes me back to the beginning. I was using that button as I assumed that's what it was for, but it doesn't work. When I start up Raven I just get the basic layout and I have to go and load my preferred layout manually…. which sometimes results in loading a completely random layout with all the buttons on top of each other or most of buttons missing altogether.
While I'm at it I'm having trouble with a lot of batch commands not working too. Is it maybe time to reinstall?

How about hitting restore factory defaults then set your user after?
Reinstalling won't reset your user prefs folder i don't think..
As far as Batch Commands, that shouldn't be connected to user Ravlays or anything..
What Batch Command's aren't working???

Tried that and I also just now installed 2.1.1 but same problem. I'm just thinking that maybe I have my layouts in the wrong folder, which folder should they be in?
As for the batch commands, the basic 1-keystroke type macros work ok however the others don't seem to do so well, I want to add my fav plugins for instance but cant get those BCs to work at all. At the risk of asking (another) stupid question, are these preset BC's supposed to have only one line of code? When I look to edit any of them such as the add fav plugin there's only the one entry in the list. How do you get into the detail of the batch command? It's the same for all of them.
Finally one other thing I've noticed is that the modifier key buttons don't seem to function correctly. They highlight when I press the corresponding key on my keyboard but, for example, if I press alt on the MTI and then change an output it only changes the one. I have to hide raven then use my keyboard to do anything that involves shift/alt/control moves.

Very odd stuff, I would def hit up slate support about the modifiers. Shouldn't matter where you put the Ravlays. The quick list aren't meant to "unpack" as this makes it much easier to "Stack" and "Repeat" quick list items.. instead of seeing 100 key commands at a time. But if you wanna see what they consist of just import whichever one into your user folder.. Here is a thread about customizing. and a download of QL items slate.boards.net/post/1276For adding plugs ins there are quite a few ways to do.. This way will fader focus in the mix window. This way will require a user click but its a fun way of getting to plugs peace Jamey Z

Hi Galantesteve,
When we refer to a Raven layout we are referring to the session which contains up to eight layouts in it. At the moment you can not have Raven open on a layout other that the first one in the Raven session. Hope this clears up some confusion. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Ok so I guess I should save my favourite Layout as number One of the 8 in order to load it when raven opens, right ?
