I built a hackintosh last March and bought the raven as my main monitor for it. I absolutely love it! It's a beast of a computer, and having a touch screen with raven software makes the creative possibilities pretty much limitless. I will say that it took some time to get everything working in the beginning. If you do any research on how to build a hackintosh you will find that is pretty normal though. But as far as raven compatibility, it works just fine and I haven't had any hackintosh compatibility related problems. In fact, I have windows installed on another drive and I was able to find the drivers for it to work with windows. Windows operating system actually has a lot of touch screen features built into it and I was able to use the raven to use them. I'm guessing the Slate team won't tell you that it's "officially" supported, but there isn't anything "officially" supported for a hackintosh. That's just how it is when you build a hackintosh, and you really do need to understand that before you invest a lot of money into it. You need to be willing to do some "hacking" to get everything working. There are some great resources out there and people who will help like tonymacx86.com .
The way I see it, the pioneers of the recording industry built a lot of their own gear. So with todays technology, it makes sense to build a computer the way you want it for your studio and have a decent amount of understanding about how computers work. Just my opinion though. I hope that helps.
