First off, apologies if what I'm about to ask is covered in another thread or in the setup articles/videos. I tried to do my due diligence and search through all existing info. My studio just purchased two Raven MTi2s to use with Pro Tools. Generally speaking, we have followed all relevant setup videos and I read through the Raven manual cover to cover. Things are working ok, but we're having a little bit of difficulty finding the correct OSX Desktop/Spaces configuration for dual Ravens. In particular, in Mission Control, the "Displays have separate Spaces" is recommended to be checked and unchecked, depending on the support article.
If "Displays have separate Spaces" is checked (which I believe is the actual recommendation), we experience a small issue whereby, anytime the Raven mixer is hidden and then shown again, it appears on the wrong screen. We've found we can snap it back into place easily enough by toggling the Mixer 22/24 button, but it is a bit of a clunky workaround. Also, in this situation, when we attempt to use the Customize Toolbar button, things get a little strange. All but one rack appear on the first Raven and we've even seen the additional racks not display the actual controls that have been assigned to them (to a point where, when you move one, it will change to its true self right under your finger).
Conversely, if "Displays have separate Spaces" is off, everything relating to the actual Raven rack panels seems to work perfectly. The mixer does not jump around between Ravens. Great! However, this OSX preference causes the second display to no longer have a menu bar and, without it, we have been unable to align the Raven mixer to Pro Tools. We even tried manually cheating it downwards by about the height of the menu, but it refused to connect.
Our system is...
Mac Pro 1,1 running OSX 10.10.4 Yosemite
2x2.66 GHz Dual Core Intel Xeon
16 GB RAM
ATI Radeon 5770 HD 1 GB
Pro Tools 2018.3
So, all that said, any input on how we should have this set up would be appreciated.
Finally, as new users, we have a couple somewhat unrelated questions. 1) Fine Faders doesn't seem to work at all for us. They are actually jumpier and less precise than the regular faders. 2) Is there a way to distribute the Raven software racks between the two Ravens? Currently, all the additional ones only appear on the first Raven and the Flip Toolbar only affects one display's toolbar. It would be nice to have a couple racks to flip through for the Edit window and a couple for the Mix window, for example.
