Hello Everyone
I'm new on this forum.
I updated to Raven 2.0 a couple of days ago. Pro Tools now crashes when trying to use any of my software included in the NI Komplete Ultimate bundle. All other plugs seem to be fine ... interestingly Kontakt has also disappeared from the Plug Ins list within Pro Tools.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Regards Chris

Thanks for the response Trevor.
I will call tomorrow when it's not so late (It's past midnight here)
Further testing shows that it is GUI related ... the crash only occurs when any of the NI GUI's open on screen.

Same problem here. Open Kontakt and a few seconds later, PT throws me out.
We're UK based, is there an email we should be using to get support on this?

I too can confirm this bug - bit of a show stopper (literally) when you're using complex Kontakt 5 setups!

Thanks for the extra confirmation Lumpo,
I spent all of today running test and putting together a report. I should have some answers regarding when this will be resolved very soon.

Just to add to this…. I can use the NI instruments in Logic just fine without crashing when running 2.0.1. For me it's just an issue when using with Pro Tools. Crashes immediately.

Has there been any progress on resolving this? It's rather a major issue I would have thought, rather than a 'wish list' or cosmetic issue. Thx Lumpo

Hi there, I've found a solution to N.I. instruments and effects crashing Pro Tools when using the Raven software is to open one up using the External Mixer first, then I've been able to use all N.I. plugs within the Raven mixer with no problems.

Hi Eden, Thank you for that ! The issue lies in a third party software used with RAVEN, we are working closely with them to resolve the issue. Glad to see you are finding a way to make it work for the time being. — Trevor Fedele Executive Assistant / Technical Assistant Slate Media Technology // Slate Digital LLC trevor@stevenslate.com

Hi there, I've found a solution to N.I. instruments and effects crashing Pro Tools when using the Raven software is to open one up using the External Mixer first, then I've been able to use all N.I. plugs within the Raven mixer with no problems. This workaround doesn't work for me. Still crashing when opening Kontakt with the External or Internal Mixer. Guys, this is an untenable situation. At least with Version 1.01 I could work without crashing. There are some workflows that rely heavily on Kontakt. I've had to roll back to the previous version of MTi for Pro Tools to keep going. Please sort this out quickly! Many thanks! Bill

Trevor,
I have found a temporary work around while this is being sorted out: Use Vienna Ensemble Pro to host NI instrument VI's when running Pro Tools with Ver. 2.01 of MTi software.
Working: Ver. 1 of MTi software and Pro Tools and NI instruments VI's Working: Logic Pro X with Ver. 2.01 of MTi software and NI instruments VI's Working: Ver. 2.01 with Vienna Ensemble Pro hosting NI instruments VI's for Pro Tools Working: Pro Tools and NI instruments VI's without any MTi software
Broken: Ver. 2.01 of MTi software opening NI instruments VI's directly in Pro Tools
Hope this helps with your understanding of the problem and hope you find a solution soon.
Many thanks!
Bill

I also got it work using BlueCat Patchwork plug in and run the VST or AU of guitar rig or Kontakt.

RAVEN Users,
We have recognized the Native Instruments bug causing Pro Tools to crash and are in progress of implementing the repair. This fix is set to release as an update before the end of next week. If you are using NI plugins with your RAVEN, the repair will require users to load plugins from the "Intern Mixer" when first loading plugins until we completely resolve the issue with NI directly, as they have reported known issues functioning with certain control surfaces. Reference the NI plugin "Readme" documentation for details on these reports.
If you have any further questions on this issue, do not hesitate to contact myself directly at the email listed below.
Thank you for your patience,
