Thats what I do.. Just drag the edit window to the above monitor. I would then set up window configurations in PT. Jamey put a great tutorial on here on how to set it up. I then have two buttons on my raven , mix front, edit front that will switch the two.. easy peasy..

You can use the Mixer Lock feature. This way you can decide when to show or hide the Mixer.
