Slate folks,
I've had my Raven Mti for a couple weeks now, but still have to go back to a secondary controller because some points of contact are just to small for a finger to implement (fades, etc.).
Maybe it would be too much to ask, but wouldn't the biggest advantage to this entire touch screen concept be this:
A global two-finger monitor-wide 'pinch and spread.' Ex: Need the waveforms larger? Take 2 fingers and spread the area so the whole screen will magnify, then pinch it to snap back in place. ...or something to this effect.
Or at least do what Mackie does on there Ipad mixing boards, and that is when your finger touches the screen that that small area will be magnified so you can see what area is being affected.
Wouldn't this remedy alot of the problems due to functions too small for the fingertips to accomplish, and make for even less mouse usage?
If I'm wrong on these ideas I apologize, but I just feel that there is more potiential on this concept.
Let me know what you guys think. Is it possible? practical?

That has been helping, Jamey, but I don't believe the option is there to take two fingers and simulate a zoom process to where spreading your fingers would cause the whole screen to zoom in both vertically and horizontally at the same time, and pinching would bring the whole screen back to whatever size you'd want.

To zoom the whole screen, including the track list (to make the touch point of access), is what I meant, too. Is there a function that does this?

Could you elaborate on how you were able to make the pinch to zoom work in a protools session?

Could you elaborate on how you were able to make the pinch to zoom work in a protools session? I would be very slow to set the key command for pinch zoom in PT, this is mainly a logic or Apple feature. however all you have to do in PT is hold down the OPTION modifier and do a 2 finger Drag Up/Down to zoom on pro tools. This is basically pinch zoom, but its a 2 finger drag and holding option.

Jamey,
I just had to reinstall the Raven on a new Mac Pro, running Yosemite (Pro Tools). I got everything going - except on the old Mac I was able to do the 2 finger pinch without a modifier key to enlarge the entire screen. Why can't I do it now?
The UPDD Gestures are checked in 'Security and Privacy'. In the UPDD Settings I have the 'Pinch and Spread' to 'Zoom in and out' and it still won't let me enlarge the screen like my Mac Mini did.
I used to be able to do a 4-finger pinch to minimize Pro Tools, too....How can I get this back?

Avid doesn't support pinch zoom, although you could set the key command to pitch zoom, but that will be really slow. Only Apple products like Logic and Garageband support pinch zoom like this. To do a pitch zoom on Raven, hold the option modifier and do a 2 finger drag up down. If you open gestures and go to settings, you can then show Gestures in the Menu Bar. From there you can save and load gestures profiles to easily switch them around.

Both are using Pro Tools 12.5 on Yosemite. Both have the same Raven settings. You gave the link to the UPDD Settings: In the UPDD Settings I have the 'Pinch and Spread' to 'Zoom in and out' and it still won't let me enlarge the screen like my Mac Mini did. Why won't it do that?
