Hi out there, we are going to buy MTI2 for each of our studio. In the moment we got a test system and with this I have an issue with the Surround panner on the raven mixer and the protools mixer but only if RAVEN is launched an active. System OSX 10.9.5 / PT 11.3.2 / Nvidia GTX780 / Nvidia Web driver or OSX default driver - issue with both.
It is impossible to move the pannerball on the vertical axis up and down - f/r with my finger, as soon as I touch the screen it snaps to the upper border and cannot be moved. Only if I use the it works perfect with the mouse and If I press hide Raven the panner works. Are you able to help me with this issue?
- if we get it to work, will the 5.1 panner be also multitouch, as the rest?
Thnx Tom

Hi, This is an issue with how the Pro tools panner responds to touch. Probably better off using the knobs instead of trying to drag in the panner. Also, It also looks like your Internal mixer isn't aligned. In order for the Raven Internal Mixer to sync properly with Pro Tools, the PT mixer will have to be aligned perfectly for the faders to sync. Check out this article on how to easy sync Pro Tools and Raven using Window Configurations. slatemt.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/215813558-Pro-Tools-Internal-Mixer-Alignment

But this has nothing to do with the panner. I wonder why the panner is working like this if RAVEN is active and not if RAVEN is in the Background. As the surround panning is a very important feature for us and we thought that MTI would help like it is shown in other videos, look here it will be a gamer decision. In there following threat I see a video where the panner is working fine - what do I do wrong? Panner working - last post!Thnx Tom

It seems to work fine for me. The calibration is a little of on it, but it is totally useable. Check your UPPD Gestures settings. If you open gestures and go to settings, you can then show Gestures in the Menu Bar. From there you can save and load gestures profiles to easily switch them around. slatemt.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/216754667-Setting-up-extra-UPDD-GesturesIs there any way to help me with this issue, I cannot get the panner to work properly? Nothing you suggest works it flips all the time to the upper border! Maybe you can send me the gesture profile which works for you, maybe it is a setting or calibration issue - but I am on my limit :-) Thnx Tom

Ok, I am also seeing that it depends if its a stereo or mono track too.
It works for me when sending a mono to 5.1 but not when sending a stereo to 5.1

Thnx I contacted the support. I think they promised multitouch so everything should work as multitouch. I myself tried Setting-up-extra-UPDD-Gestures, but I cannot go further with this, and I think this overall UPDD Gestures will bring more problems then it solves. But as we are newcomers on MTI I will ask for teamview, and then we see.

Curious if there is any update after the teamview session. Before purchasing the MTi I had been using the legacy V-Control Pro app on my iPad for surround panning and it worked much better than the surround panner on the Slate Raven. I've found that you can get around the weird locked to the front panning issue if you don't use the Raven app, but it is still laggy and takes a few tries to get the Raven to figure out that your finger is there, and then still another couple to get the panner to actually move where your finger is moving. Really thought that this was a place that the Raven was going to shine, and have to say I'm pretty disappointed.
