Hi, I'm wanting to time align a drum group and keep everything phase aligned. From what I can tell, I can only do this one track at a time, which immediately takes away any phase alignment. I know (from speaking with Paul) that it uses the Tab To Transients method of separating the regions. I'm just wondering if it can be controlled across a group. Thanks!

Hi Ryan, Try grouping all the tracks into one region. It should retain phase accuracy.

Not exactly sure what you mean by this… I'm working on a record with 19 drum tracks. I'd like to do my edits in the same way as manually using Tab To Transient. Hope that helps...

For multiple drums i would suggest grouping the tracks and using the BC "Quantize with Beat Detective"
Snap Trans Grid is better for Loops or Gtr's and things that don't need phase alignment.

Is this a preset BC or do I need to create it? If it's already there, where is it? Thanks!

Its already a BC in the General Tab. Weird, still not finding it, nor a "General Tab". If it helps, I'm not on a Raven, I'm using this in PT 10.

its in there, go to Q on the general tab, maybe the search isn't working since you need to capitalize the QUANTIZE

Hi Ryan,
The General Tab would be found by right clicking the batch command/clicking quick list. Also with drum editing I was referring to grouping the clips, under the clip menu->group.
"Quantize with Beat Detective" is going to be your best bet though.
Kind Regards,

Or try grouping clip before running snap it. That may help keep the phase aligned.

So you can setup a drum group and then use the kick's transients to decide where to separate? That's how it can be done manually. All drums in the group will be separated at the same spot. Can the batch commander use the kick's transients to separate and then snap all of the tracks based on the kick's track to the grid? Maybe have the kick first in the drum group and setup BC to look to the first track for the separating and snapping.

It would have to be a new BC where it...
1. Turned Off Group 2. Tabbed to Kick 3. Turns On Group 4. Break Region 5. Repeat From Top
or you could probably use Beat Detective for this if you have multiple drums to help the phase..
hope this helps..
good luck
