I'm wondering of it's at all possible to have the scribble strip text limit increased. I know it's a small detail, but the Pro Tools scribble strip is pretty limited, and with the Raven scribble strip being even more restrictive the names of tracks get very cryptic. I often find myself hiding the Raven so I can view the scribble strip on the Pro Tools console.

This is a HUI limitation, if you look at any console that uses HUI it will only show 4 Characters in the track names. Hit the "Show Comments" button to show the entire track name, this is pretty much why we made that button.

I've used the Show Comments button before, but it didn't seem to work how I thought it would. Now that I know what it's real purpose is, I'll use the comments for my track names. I had a feeling that it was due to some limitation outside of Slate's control, given that purpose behind the Raven was to give more, better, and more accurate usage.

Should be no need to put name in the comments as the name strip will appear when show comments is pushed.

I now know my confusion was because I was using the 'Show Comments' button literally... i.e., when I wanted to view the comments, and overlooking the scribble strip. As a very 'old school' guy I often use the comments as my scribble strip too...when we used 1" paper leader tape and pen I could write all kinds of things...then again there were only 8-16 tracks to worry about. ;-)
