OK so a few times now upon starting up my system the Raven MTi2 screen is salt and pepper, not responsive. The regular 28" LCD I have works fine, but the menu is on the Raven as per instructions. A restart has fixed the issue, and TechToolPro comes back with a pass for the video card.
Is it possible the Raven is dying and how can I tell? I', a month or so away from warranty so it's all pretty imperative, stressful etc.

If you swap the Raven and the LCD cables does it do the same thing?

Mac Pro 09, Modified with faster everything, chips 2x 3.33 6 core Xeons, 2 M.2 SSDs and 24GB 1333 RAM. ATI Radeon HD 4870 512 MB video card. It's connected via the DVI input on the Radeon.
It just happened a minute or two after I turned it on, turning the power button on and off on the Raven fixed it for now.

The MTi2 is HDMi so there must be a converter in their somewhere, perhaps this is where the issue is.. Can you try a different convert. If you swap the Raven and the LCD cables does it do the same thing?

Yes 100% certain it's the MTi2. The cable goes from HDMI to DVI, the one to the regular 28" LCD goes from DVI to Mini display. The graphics card checks out with TechTool Pro anyway. I suppose I can look into buying a MIni display to HDMI cable to make sure it's not the cable. I'm not sure how the cable would cause peppering though??

Thanks, hopefully it's not a hardware issue.... always possible it's a software conflict.
