I am about to buy a new Mac Pro and would like to know how far the development of the RAVEN software is? I don't really want to run an outdated operating system on a current high-end system just so that I can use my two RAVENs. The change is planned as soon as MacOS Monterey is released.
Thx..René

Ok, I just got an email from Slate that they were working on a software update. I just hope that the whole thing is not limited to the plug-ins.

RAVEN will work on Monterey but many plugins and DAW's will likely have issues, so I would stay on Big Sur on your new mac pro until all your companies support the OS.

when can the update for Monterey be expected? Raven, some Slate plugins, and Monterey and Logic 10.7 do not work properly.

Probably a few months once all the Developers release updates for macOS Monterey 12.0.1. RAVEN will work however you will have some weird graphics issues with the Batch Command Panel name area..

months .. wow .. so long?
I hope that it works faster with the adaptation of the plugins. loading takes a long time under logic 10.7.
and that with the RAVEN .. well, by now you have got used to it that somehow something does not fit ..
but .. my VSX work perfectly and that even under Monterey and Logic 10.7 ;-)

when will RAVEN OS, Mac OS Monterey be compatible? when is an update coming? The VSX are now compatible and it is recommended to update to Monterey.

when will RAVEN OS, Mac OS Monterey be compatible? when is an update coming? Very hard to say when an update is coming as Apple broke a lot of things with the macOS Monterey 12.0.1.. RAVEN will "work" on Monterey 12.0.1 but you will notice some odd graphical issues with the Batch Command Panel Names. The VSX are now compatible and it is recommended to update to Monterey. Actually, for Pro Audio I still wouldn't recommend updating your OS. The VSX update was mainly to help users who bought the new M1 Max as it comes pre-installed with Monterey 12.0.1 From what I have seen Pro Tools has some serious graphical issue on macOS Monterey 12.0.1 and there are a lot of other plugin companies that still don't support it yet.

Are we safe to install Mac OS 12.1 update or is 12.0.1 still the version to stick with for now?

with all these problems I wonder ... why doesn't Slate just develop its own DAW?
Like now you can't be serious about that .. to hang behind the clock and to play around with an old operating system for ages !! Not at all contemporary.

Hi, I am new to this forum and I have a problem with my RAVEN MTi2 and my Macbook Pro 16" M1 2021. I am running DP11 and Mac OS Monterey 12.0.1.
I have no issues with the Raven connecting to my studio computer, Macbook Pro Trashcan running the exact same OS and DAW. The difference is one is intel and one an M1.
I literally spent over an hour in Team-viewer with someone from Slate Digital to work on the problem and it was unbelievably frustrating because I felt like the rep didn't even know what was happening. Sometimes I felt like they were guessing. What made it more difficult as there is no voice communication along with screen share so the communication via chat was cumbersome as you had to wait to make changes or fight to get control of the mouse to type in passwords etc.
I have another Raven coming from Sweetwater so I can have one at my studio and one at my home and I would like to know what's up with the Raven and my Macbook Pro.
I love the unit and it works great in my studio. I want to get it running with my Macbook so I can work from home some with my late nights. If not I will have to return it to sweetwater.
Does anyone have any insight into what could be the issue?
Thank you!

If I recall your system had real trouble loading the drivers at restart so this would mean there is something blocking your OS from loading all the drivers. Also, I don't recall getting a response from your last support ticket so please respond and we can get UPDD/Touchbase to take a look at why your machine doesn't want to load the UPDD drivers. support.touch-base.com/Documentation/50773/Dext-load-issues?Keywords=dext

Hello, I'm planning to buy the new Mac Studio with M1Max and macOS Monterey. The DAW will be Cubase 12. The plugins I have planned to install are Slate Digital and other brands and I have verified that they are all compatible with M1. Could you please confirm if the Raven software of my Slate MTi2 will be compatible?
Thank in advance for your kind reply.
Marco

Hello Jameyz, I installed the latest version of Raven (3.9.5) on my Mac Studio Pro m1 Max with iOS Monterey 12.6 and I noticed that the program is not Silicon native. This is causing me severe slowdowns using native plugins in Cubase 12 because Raven has to go through Rosetta. I also noticed that the 3.9.5 installer contains an old version of V-Control pro, also not Silicon ready, while a native version (Silicon ready) is already available on the Neyrink website. UPDD also appears to be non-native. All this is creating great confusion and huge operational problems, which make my MTi2 unusable... Have you planned a release date for the Raven system native for M1? Thanks for your kind support and sorry for my poor english
