It took a lot of installs to get my MTi2 working, but I did. However, I don't want it to be my primary monitor when not recording and changing back and forth toasts the whole thing again sometimes. Also, I have a home automation app on my workstation (HS3) that uses usb based comm ports to communicate with all my zwave devices. A couple times over various install attempts I notice HS3 was having issues, but they cleared. Now it it's completely un-restorable and it will take hundreds of hours to rebuild all my automation rules and tablet controls. I'm not happy.
I have the MTi2 on a separate graphics card and using the motherboard HDMI out to a Splitter the has 3 other monitors on it. To the PC this one other monitor.
What I want to know is...
1) IS MTi2 on a windows box able to be dynamically switched back and forth between different monitor selection in windows ...like all the monitors show the same and then back to the MTi2 as primary?
2) What runs on each cable? My assumptions is HDMI only sends normal signaling between HDMI devices and all the touchscreen protocols are on the USB.
3) Does this grab or have anything to do with serial ports?
4) I know very little about USB protocol. The serial comm interfaces for HS3 are USB devices (one per serial port) could there be a conflict there?
THANKS!
Tom
