Greetings!
I extensively tested the old MTi and liked it, but eventually chose to return it mainly for three reasons:
1. The border height due to the infrared touch overlay and aluminum case made it impossible to touch the very edge of the screen. 2. The poor vertical viewing angle of the screen made it impossible to use in my preferred angle, which is about 30 degrees. 3. The price. A good quality capacitive touch screen (Iiyama T2735SMC-B2) was a quarter of the price with a better stand and viewing angles.
That said, I'm VERY excited about the new MTi 2, because in the promo picture it looks like it's a capacitive screen!
Could someone at Slate please give us a bit more specific information regarding the new MTi 2?
Specifically I would like to know:
1. The manufacturer of the touch controller?
2. The manufacturer of the lcd panel?
3. The type of lcd panel used?
4. Viewing angles of the panel, vertical and horizontal?
Thanks!

Hi Henrik, That is all information that stays with us . I am finding out about how adjustable the stock stand is. MTi2 has a VESA mount which will make mounting options endless. Kind Regards, — Trevor Fedele Product Specialist Slate Media Technology // Slate Digital LLC

Thanks for the quick answer.
VESA mounting option sounds very good.
But why would you withhold the technical specifications?
I have never heard of anyone selling a computer screen and not stating the manufacturer, lcd panel type, viewing angles etc.
I think these specifications are the standard of what I should be able to consider when making a purchase decision, like with any other product out there.

Hey isohenka,
The Stand Adjusts from 10° to 55°, Ideal Angle = 40°.
Information regarding components used in our products is proprietary information.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Kind Regards,

Thank you for the swift answer regarding the stand. Can you at least confirm it is an IPS panel? ( I think Steven Slate says something like that in this post www.gearslutz.com/board/11381858-post90.html ) If you want to keep the manufacturer of the panel and touch controller a secret, go ahead. I just think that's not a smart decision. Possible buyers like me will get suspicious and annoyed. And there's nothing keeping a competitor of yours from getting one MTi 2, opening it up and seeing for themselves who the manufacturer is. Also I don't think releasing information about the viewing angles of the panel compromises anything. It would just tell me if I should order one to try or not. -Henrik Rosenberg

As long as it performs as expected, that is all that matters IMO. Slate MT is delivering an integrated solution. Not a bunch of components.

If I'm buying a computer, I want to know the manufacturer of the hard drive and display adapter. Some hard drive manufacturers are better than others, same goes for display adapters. And all other components. If I'm buying a car, I want to know the manufacturer of the engine, tires, stereo and what not. Components do matter and should not be considered "proprietary" information, since there is nothing proprietary about the hardware of the MTi2. Slate did not invent lcd panels, touch controllers and so on. What is proprietary about the Ravens is the software. That is Slate's intellectual property. And I'm not asking about that. Just the hardware. There isn't a Raven dealer any more where I live, so I have to order one from abroad if I want to try it. I'm trying to find out about the components of the MTi2 beforehand to see if I should order it or not. Currently I have a Iiyama T2735MSC-B2 touch monitor which has excellent panel quality, viewing angles and a fast responsive touch controller manufactured by 3M. In my opinion, the 3M touch controller is the best I've used. I hope the MTi2 uses the 3M touch controller. Does it? Looking forward to seeing videos of the new MTi2 in action. At the moment all I've found is a few pictures at www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MTi2

Does the MTi2 come with a VESA mount? If not can you tell me what kind of VESA is available on the MTi2? VESA would be critical in my setup. It would be good to know the weight s well Thank you
