Hi Trevor and Jamie,
Jamie and have previously talked about the option to select channel strips / plugins using a batch command in Logic. Unfortunately, Logic is not helpful on this front and so the only way at the moment to achieve this is to scroll through the various channel strips until you reach the correct one - it currently has no direct call option for channel strips, instruments or individual plugins.
However, rather than scrolling through saved channel strips (with a pause in between each) which can take quite a while, I believe that Logic can call "performances" - which I think are very similar to channel strip settings from what I can deduce. These can be called with a direct MIDI program change command and so I wonder whether this would be a pretty cool feature to implement, in place of the missing option above? It would bring it almost in line with protools on that front.
If you are able to write a few beta BC for say program 1, program 2 and program 3 (in what I believe is standard MIDI program change data), I would be delighted to give this a try and see how it could benefit Logic users.
Thanks
Danny

Nice Idea. BC's can trigger MIDI, but require a 3rd party app. "Keyboard Maestro". $60. Which has a MIDI script that can be launched from a BC.
However, I do think there will be some new features in the next 3.0 update that will make loading chains a lot easier..

Great news. I will hang in there a bit longer....it's certainly not a deal breaker for me by any means - just a great idea that makes me a little envious of my protools colleagues....
