Hello.
Long story short is I am struggling a bit with the having both Logic Pro X and the Raven as new software in my life. I was a long time Pro Tools user up until v9. I switched to Reaper and loved it. I purchased the Raven and upgraded to PT11 believing that the new version 64bit of ProTools would allow for higher track counts and plug in usage and that the Raven would give me the same benefits that Reaper offers creating multiple commands in one "speed key". Unfortunately Pro Tools is still Pro Tools and the second I started getting the old errors I decided to switch to Logic and give it a go.
What I immediately realized is the Pro Tools version of the Slate software is more advanced than the Logic version. Single buttons like Mix/Edit window flip doesn't exist on the Logic version. Return to zero "button" above the transport isn't there, etc.
I was hoping someone who has extensive knowledge with Logic could share their Raven Layouts and custom batch commands with me. Because I lack experience with Logic I find myself not using the touch screen at all. At least with the Pro Tools version I had intuition about the workflow that I wanted to re-create on the touch screen and what actions that took a long time in PT that I wanted to improve on the efficient of. With Logic I just done have a reference point.
I realize this will come with time but I am looking for some instant gratification. Thanks in advance.

Hi Ross,
The Logic version of Slate Raven is much more in its infancy - they are still developing the software. I've noticed one of the issues is that Protools has a number of key commands that Logic doesn't have (I'm more of a Logic expert than Protools!) so the Raven batch commands are able to make instant use of these, where the Logic version cannot.
Putting aside Raven, I would start to play around with the screen sets in the first instance and set up some useful sets that help you move around the software. Then, try experimenting with the key commands in Logic, again so you can see where the power (and the drawbacks) lie.
Once you know the sort of things you can do, I would say that is the ideal time to start generating your batch commands. Logic is so customisable that I'm not sure exchanging setups would be of much use (although others may disagree?)
Good luck and let me know if there is anything in particular that you wanted to do and I'll see if I can help...
Danny

Hi Ross,
Initially I would like to confirm the version of Raven you are currently on. It should be 2.5.0 could you confirm this?
Kind Regards,
