Updated to 2.1 put cannot find the 'Audio FX" button with Logic Pro X in the Raven toolbar. I am trying to do this. Was this omitted in the 2.1 update?
To Add a New Plugin To Your Track On the RAVEN Mixer, you can load plugins by hitting the AUDIO FX button on the RAVEN Toolbar. Once the AUDIO FX button has been pressed a menu with empty slots will appear. To select a rack, simply press an empty or filled plugin rack from the window and it will highlight. Now, you can either use our “Scroll” pad to move your finger vertically to move through your plugins, or you can use the “Next” and “Previous” buttons to move through the list one plugin per press. Once your desired plugin has been located in the rack, hit “Select” and the plugin should load to the rack space and automatically appear open for you to now make an adjustment to.

I can confirm this - no Audio FX here either.
Also, what good should the Quicklist be if you can't edit the commands? This isn't ProTools where everyone has the same Key Commands. And Raven still ignores the Keyboard language. I just added some sznth's and czmbals. Most BatchCommands don't work here because of this.
Pretty useless update so far for me.

I am getting the audio fx button here, but I think a bug kicked it out. Try using this ravlay I made today. NOV 27 MTI LOGIC.ravlay (265.74 KB) also make sure to hit "restoring factory settings" I like to stack the quick list together to do some cool things. But if you change one quiclist item it may break your previous stack you made earlier. If you would like to edit the quick list, just import these into your user folder and you can edit the quick list from there .. Single.zip (426.73 KB) P.S make sure to select Raven Keys in the Preset Key Command Menu peace Jamey Z

Thanks Jamey!
I noticed the Audio FX button was hidden under the save layout controls after trying your ravlay.
Thanks for your help! The single.zip is very cool! Might be even better to have some kind of edit button to basically do the same thing with the factory default quicklist item.
One more thing.. can you confirm that "Pan Mode" isn't saved with the raven session?
Have a great Thanks Giving!

Try resetting to Factory defaults in the Settings Menue. The Audio FX button was hidden under the Layout sets on my raven. Or just drag all elements away from the Main Rack one by one - it's gonna be under there somewhere.
The Keycommand File (Quicklist File?) came in the 2.1.0 update Package. Alternatively you can try "single.zip" that Jamey posted above. You can import them by loading from the Quicklist Menu.

there are slate keycommands in logic if the install worked properly. try de-installing raven and ney-fi and re-install the whole thing.
if you only need the keycommands, I could send them to you once Im back in the studio.

Or use the installer that came with the Mti and install logic keys and they will show up in your "Preset" menu in the Key Command Prefs. LOGIC RAVEN KEYS.logikcs (69.36 KB) Also try using this ravlay to get the "Audio FX" button. NOV 27 MTI LOGIC.ravlay (281.34 KB) Peace Jamey Z

I've been messing around with the audio fx button. I didn't have it at first either, but after loading Jamey Z's ravelay , then going back to my own custom ravelay, it showed up. This is definitely a really cool feature. I just wish there was a better way to get to the plugin I'm looking for than sorting through a list that seems to be in a random order one at a time. If the Raven is supposed to save time, that isn't helping. But overall, once my plugins are loaded, having that to instantly touch and tweak my settings is very helpful.

For adding plugs in, I prefer to use BC's like these... ADD EIOSIS AIREQ.ravbc (1.2 KB) ADD VIRTUAL MIX RACK.ravbc (1.54 KB) ADD VIRTUAL TAPE.ravbc (1.56 KB). 1. Hit the BC 2. Touch The Insert 3. Wait for BC to finish then you can use the Audio FX to quickly pull the plugs in up.. peace jamey Z

Jamey Z, you are a genius! :-) This is very cool! So from what I understand, the first thing it does after you press it is wait 3 seconds so you have time to open the plugin list, then it just types in the menu's in their hierarchy until it gets to that specific plugin. I will definitely be programming in some of my most used plugins! :-)

That is exactly what it should do. This way there is know need to look through the list for a thousand plugs. I really like this for filtering UAD and Waves plugs.

Is there a more detailed explanation on setting up how to load a plugin from a batch command. The current system for loading plugins is totally unusable and is in my opinion kind of a joke to include. I opened up your add Eiosis Air to see how to create my own batch command and I tried replacing some with different names and all sorts of weird stuff happens. It would be nice if there was a step by step tutorial on creating a batch command to open a plugin. Also explain why you use the spacebar command and cursor right command because this isn't working like I would expect it to.
Thanks.

The spacebar is used since it needs it own key command to work. Any Key command cannot have a spacebar and a name, so use the space bar to put a space in-between the words it looks for. The cursor right or left just moves through the plug in window. So I am basically just typing in the commands that I would use to get to the menu by hand. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW_ioEFKYl8&index=12&list=UUcsttGjEJ0yf0LmTVXw-xmwthis video is for pro tools, but uses the same concept.. 1. Blank Key Command with (3000ms delay) (Give you 3sec to click the insert you want) 2. Audio 3. Spacebar 4. Units (This will move the cursor to the audio units folder) 5. Cursor Right (Move cursor to audio units folder) 6. Name of plug in Manufacture (Slate Digital, Eiosis) 7. Cursor Right (Open the Manufacture Folder) 8. Name Of plug In (Virtual Mix Rack.. use spacebar as its own key command if there is a two or three name plug in) 9. Enter or Return (Selects the plug in) Hope this helps.. We have a Quick Tips video coming out for this on Logic soon. peace Jamey Z

Thanks Jamey. I just need to experiment more. Or maybe I wasn't selecting the insert spot in time so it was trying to hit play and a screen set and all kinds of weird screens would open up. I did load your Logic Raven Keys so that shouldn't have been the problem.
For me the frustration is that this product is so close to being really cool except for a couple of items and being able to insert plugins is a big one for me but it isn't like a can't do it the old way.

In my opinion Logic leaves a couple things to be desired as does every daw. I do love the channel strip settings and the quick double click for EQ in logic insets. But I hate diggin through the audio units and I don't love their whole audio fx window. I seem to prefer a standard set of inserts like cubase/ableton/PT/DP.
The good thing about Raven is it constantly being updated unlike audio hardware so I am sure the programmers will be able to make the audio fx / plug bot button more useful..
peace
Jamey z
P.s. Please share any cool instant plug in BC's u make so I can use them:)
