Just thought I would do a quick "show and tell" of my diy "Raven". It's not finished yet but I think you'll get the idea. Still have to finish painting, fix the wrist rest on and apply some cool decals. Shane Attachments:

very cool, whats the total price for the system?? I think two of those together would be sweet. Maybe we'll have a dual batch commander in the future..

The monitor I had anyway but it was £350 GBP and I've spent about £30 GBP on wood and bits. Obviously then there is the price for Batch Commander. I also have the beta of the Mac version of Emulator Pro which I am using for multitouch faders for Pro Tools HD, although so far it's not quite there yet. If only you would release Faders 2.0 as a separate application, it would save me a lot of work

I've been working on combing BC with Emulator Pro, using it to supply the multi-touch faders and the transport. Here is a picture....

Very cool. Are you gonna be able to throw in some pan rotary knobs and stuff?? I also think emulator pro can do MIDI right???
I find emulator to be very cool with Ableton and Logic since they are more "Mappable" then Pro Tools..

Yes it's all midi, and I've written translations for Bomes Midi Translator to translate from the midi out from Emulator Pro to HUI for Pro Tools. I also use midi translator to create 3 virtual midi ports so in Pro Tools I map 3 HUI controllers to give me the 24 faders. My previous work with Emulator mapped most of the available HUI controls, but for this so far I have not personally had the need for things like Pans as I do not need multi-touch for this as I only adjust one pan at a time, but rotary would be good . In reality I probably only need multi-touch on the faders rarely, though this is nice to have. I did do some videos on my Emulator Pro Tools controller on www.alien-touch.com that's with pans etc. Still work in progress so still plenty to do.

Just be careful putting all this work into a hui. Avid no longer test it on any release and it's no longer developed. I've ran into a few hui issues in pro tools 11 that there are no work arounds for Avid have put there hands up and said not our problem we don't test hui any more it's no longer supported so just a word of warning you may encounter issues even with bomes as I made full bomes maps for a GS-R24M to fix my issue and turned out I couldn't due to it being midi. One situation is just using the jog wheel to scroll to the next page it won't do it but would In PT10. With Acid being so focused on eucon I would be surprised to see them keep HUI in future releases. just buy a Raven and have it work with no HUI and better touch response great idea you have going though

Raven uses HUI.. But I think avid have a contract with mackie to keep hui alive. So raven should be cool for a while..

I didn't know Raven used HUI. I spoke with avid recently and was informed HUI is no longer supported or tested on ProTools or any future release when I was trying to get a fix for some issues. Even there own older HUI controllers like command 8 and a 3rd party MCU they tested had the same issue I was disappointed they have dropped all suport to focus on eucon

At the moment the only third party protocol available for controllers is unfortunately hui, the benefit of using midi translator is i can change it without changing my controller

Here was what Avid said. The bug number has been logged on your support case, and put into the CS Critical Bugs list. That list consists of bugs found by Tech Support. As we've discussed there's very little possibility that this will be given time by the software development team, as the HUI protocol is no longer tested / qualified in current Pro Tools versions.
