FLOATING MIXER - instead of using the MIXER/EDIT button to switch, I use 2 layout buttons instead in order to have 2 different sets of tools. - I like the idea of the floating mixer in the edit window, but when I go back to the layout for the mixer window the mini mixer is there too.(sometimes on top of the PT mixer, sometimes, peeking through from the background) If I close the mini mixer there and go back to the edit window layout it's closed there as well. - Even if save my session with the mixer where I want it with the number of channels that I need, when I reopen I have to set it all up again. - Slightly frustrating. Is it me or is this something that needs fixing?
FLOATING COUNTER - Similar issue here - I drag the floating counter to the top of the screen. Switch layout and then switch back and the counter has fallen to the floor. - If I drag it back up the top and then SAVE the layout, it will stay put. But only for the day. Even after saving the layout and the Raven Session, when restarting, I have to do it all over again. Is this also something that needs fixing, or am I doing it wrong, or is it my system? - SUGGESTION - Can you just make the counter icon in the BC be the counter instead of just a picture of a counter set at 00:00:00 that could save screen space
Ok- one more suggestion. Please take a look at how Quick Keys allows you to pick menu items and the entire process in general. OR-maybe partner up with the fine people at QK to improve this function. What would be great is for BC to be able to use my QK commands as well.

Be sure to press "Save Layout" then overwrite the current layout so the changes are saved. Then press "Save Raven Session" to save the RAVLAY. Check out this article on the steps to set the user default layout and save layouts. slatemt.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001645327

If you search the Quick List we have every menu item programmed in there.

This is a video of the mixer problem I'm having. Layout 3 is the edit window Layout 4 is the Mixer window - I start by switching between these 2 to show that there is no floating mixer - I switch back to Layout 3 and open the floating mixer - I switch back to Layout 4 and the mixer is also there. I don't want it there. So I close it there (sometimes it ends up in the background peeking through the meters and I can't close it) - I switch back to Layout 3 and of course the mixer is gone from there as well. - I go through the steps again.
Plan B?
Thank you for your feedback on the Counter. - I now have that working properly (although I thought I had done all the saves before- I must have malfunctioned somewhere)
NEW REQUEST I've posted this somewhere else a few weeks back. Is there a key command for the golden Open/Close plugin button that I can assign to a swiping action? The Close All Floating Windows swipes also closes open PT floating windows. But the magic Open/Close Plugin button does exactly what we need. Just want to assign it to a pinching action.
My thing with QK is a petty one. There are some PT menus that change based on state. Make Active/Make inactive tracks for example. I can have one key to do this instead of having to make 2 BC buttons. Because QK can select the menu based on location within the menu. But - OK - I will live with this as is. I'm sure you'll be making more improvements as time goes on.
Thanks for your help.

If you search the Quick List we have every menu item programmed in there. I'm looking for the Protools menu item VIEW>SENDS A-E>Send A (B,C,D,E) instead of Assignments. I'm not finding it, unless maybe it's named somethine else? Thanks again. t

Making progress - I have found that Command Option W will close the currently open plugin. Now only need to know what the secret key command is to Re-open the plugin.

- Your solution of Cntrl Opt Cmd W will open and close all floating windows which is Not What I'm Looking For ( I have other floating windows that need to stay open) - Opt Cmd W will close a plug in that is open (Same as the golden button in the BC) - There must be some command that will re-open the plug-in and it's not Cntrl Opt Cmd W.
BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY AND MY #1 PROBLEM How do we stop the floating mixer from the edit window from appearing on the MIX window? Please see video above.

Clearly I'm not the communicator that I think I am. Lets try again. NEW VIDEO - This should be easier to understand. - all on one preset (#2) Using only the EDIT/MIX button on the BC - Starts in the MIX position - Click the MIX/EDIT button to switch to the EDIT window - Open floating mixer - Click the MIX/Edit button again to switch back to the Mix Window ***Why is the Floating Mixer still showing??*** - Click the MIX/Edit button again to switch back to the EDIT window - floating mixer is still there which is exactly where I left it, which is perfect- - Click the MIX/Edit button again to switch back to the MIX window ****Why is the Floating Mixer in jail??****
I really appreciate your efforts. If my explanation is not clear enough perhaps someone else can jump in here and help? Please do not tell me that I need to close the floating mixer before switching back to the Mixer Window. That would just be cruel.
Thanks again.

But you probably aren't overwriting the current layout with the new windows showing, so that is why you don't see the change when you switch and the RAVEN Floating Mixer is still showing.

Ok- so the video doesn't work - this floating mixer isn't working (at least in an intuitive way that makes it useful) You are not able to comprehend the problem. So I'm throwing in the towel.

Video still doesn't work. But I think I understand the issue. I will have the programmers add the Floating Mixer "open/closed status" to the layout saving, as right now it seems to only save the location and not the open/closed status.

ok - lets give that a shot. Not sure if that's it or not. There's a bunch of other issues with that floating mixer as well. ( i know- not what you want to hear) If I save it open and set to 24 channels, ( when it's in 24 channels you can only move it up and down and obviously not left to right since it takes up the entire width) But when you restart, it will appear to only be 16 channels, but you can only drag it up and down- so it apparently thinks that all 24 are showing. So the work around at this point is to hit the minus button and then the plus button again to get all 24 channels showing. ( and yes, it is properly saved as preset and session)
thanks for hanging in there.
