I have an older MacPro 1.1 Dual Xeon processor generation box, running OS 10.7 and ProTools HD with an NVIDIA GeForce 7300 card.
When upgrading to the Raven MTi2 I encountered a startup issue that the display would flash on/off after the initial startup screen. It's actually a video negotiation issue. The operating system is unable to correctly communicate with the display.
The issue is solved by running the Raven as a VGA display, instead of HDMI.
The Raven would eventually negotiate the display with the computer, but only after switching the DVI cable between display ports on the card.
This was either due to the pinout of the DVI to HDMI cable, or HDMI specs are just different enough in the Raven than the older card can support.
I'm putting this here for any other folks upgrading their older MacPro's to the Raven MTi2.
I spoke with Tech Support, who had absolutely no clue what the issue was, other than to drag the Raven all around my studio to see if I could make it work.
I received a follow up from Tech Support who had spoken to hardware engineering who thought it might be an adapter or cable issue... two days after I had solved the problem.

Hi,
could try resetting P.Ram
1. Shut down your Mac. 2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Option, Command (⌘), P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4. 3. Turn on your Mac. 4. Immediately press and hold the Option-Command-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears. ... 5. Release the keys.
