Hi Folks. I've had this issue for quite some time and now I report that I've had the issue on multiple machines, different OSes, etc. UPDD basically stops working after any amount of idle time. My machine never sleeps (only the displays blank). Have had this happening on both a retina iMac and now also on a 2015 Macbook pro. Happened in Yosemite, happening still in El Capitan. Nothing I've done so far has resolved this issue. Have done clean installs, tried it after having made new user accounts, etc. Is anyone else seeing problem or have any insight as to what's happening here? I've never had it stop working while I'm using it, but only once the monitor has blanked for a while. The only thing I've been able to do to get it back up and running is reboot. If I try to disable it and re-enable it from the top menu it just gives me the spinning beachball of death. The processes that hang when this happens are: UPDD TUIO UPDD Gestures aidaemon If I manually go in and kill those 3 processes and then manually relaunch UPDD TUIO followed by UPDD Gestures then it works again (until the monitor blanks for some time). For a while it was just now and then, now it's pretty much every night. The only thing I haven't tried yet from the UPDD site's troubleshooting is manually powering my screen on and off (which sucks because when I do that and am using my MBP in clamshell mode it forces the screen on which then requires me to jump through more hoops to get back to normal) or unplugging and re-plugging the USB. Hoping that the solution is not to have to unplug and re-plug the USB every time I want to use my MTI2 P.S. I can't find any crash reports or other logs for UPDD at all

Are you using a USB hub or something? Have you tried a different USB cable?? Are you using multiple screens??? Have you tried changing the Display spaces off?? Here is how I have my energy saver set and I don't ever have problems with UPDD quitting.. I will leave my computer on screen saver for hours and it boots right back up..

I've tried both with and without a USB hub and it made no difference on two different machines now. I'm pretty sure I've turned off the spaces before but I will do that again to make sure that it's not the problem. And I'm pretty sure I've tried a different USB cable, but I will swap it for another one this week and see if that makes a difference.

And nothing funky going on in Energy Saver. I have also made sure to disable graphics switching as I want it using the discreet graphics card all the time anyway (I also drive a 4k TV from it).

Can you see if it still happens if just the Raven is plugged in?? Also, which monitor is selected in your UPDD hardware? Perhaps you can try switching it to monitor 1.

It does indeed happen with just the raven plugged in and it is already set to monitor 1.

I'd like to know as well. I don't want to waste money on something that doesn't play nice. Jamey, are you testing with MTi or MTi2 or MTX? MTi2 is only one that uses capacitive overlay. I have an MTi. I will be installing UPDD today, and will post back with my results.

I haven't had time to chase this all down as of yet (I just reboot before each session). If it was more widespread I'm sure other people would be complaining about it. I'm just good at finding all these crazy corner cases.

I'm having a similar issue here, being that UPDD is not reading my MTi2 at all. I have tried everything from swapping the USB cable twice and reinstalling all software several times. Just got off the phone with tech support and they couldn't find an issue with the software, so it appears that the USB connector might be bad. I'm going to play around with it a bit to see if I can get it to work, but it's a shame that I now have to wait until September 4th to get a new one.

Do you have another computer to try??
Are you sure you are on MTi2 not MTi1??

I've now completely changed around the setup (all new cables, etc) and I still have this issue -- but now it's only UPDD Gestures that crashes. When it zombies it takes up 100% CPU until I force quit it, and while that's happening touch doesn't work. Once I re-launch it things work fine again. I actually just wrote a shell script to do this for me that I can click from my dock heh. Very occasionally I have to also kill aidaemon but usually don't have to do a full reboot any longer. It's too bad these utilities don't log something. I'm sure I'm a corner case at this point (because no one else is having the issue) but I've had it consistently and even with multiple computers. I actually just found a bunch of additional information here: touch-base.com/documentation/gestures.htmGoing to try some of these troubleshooting tips and see if I can figure out what is causing all this stuff.

I am encountering the same touch issues here. Changed tones of USB cables. Purchased the OWC Thunderbolt Dock 2 because hub recommended by Slate guys..... Put the USB cable on the dock or in the Mac USB port..... Always the same issue: touch works when it wants to work.... and doesn't work when it doesn't want to work..... Has anyone found a solution yet?

Has anyone found a solution yet? If you click the UPDD "Hand" icon up in the menu bar and check "Status" is it set to handle monitor 1?? wpc.6A46.edgecastcdn.net/006A46/Support/SMT/UPDD%20status.png

Has anyone found a solution yet? Does it start working again after a reboot? If so it's likely a process crashing, if not it's probably something different.

Yes. Today at the first boot it didn't work. Then I tried to switch off the computer and reboot: nothing again. Third time: nothing. I left the touch not working and made other thing with the computer. After a while I made a 4th reboot. This time, after a while UPDD began to connect/disconnect various times, until it connected consistently. And now about 3 hours passed with touch functioning... And I can bet that it will continue working till I switch off the computer. But I can also bet that tomorrow morning it will not work anymore...
