I see Steven mention v4 on gearslutz, I appreciate its work in progress but any idea when it’s likely to be released and will the update be free?
if not, how long will the grace period be (would depend on when I pull the trigger).
I don’t suppose there’s support planned for sequoia or pyramix or intergration with the UAD platform on windows?
thanks

Hey,
All Slate products support free upgrades.
What are you hoping V4 will have that the RAVEN currently doesn't have??
You can use single touch and gestures in Pyramix, but I don't think there will ever be a RAVEN toolbar for it as the market would be a bit small.

Hey Jamey - The biggest things I'm hoping for in V4 -Easier way to manage macros button library - Easier ways to edit macro scripts (copy, paste, etc). - More flexible management of macro bars and pallets - A surprise announcement that Steinberg Cubendo natively supports Raven!!!!!!

What are you hoping V4 will have that the RAVEN currently doesn't have?? 1. Resizable floating mixer- or tweaks to the floating mixer so various DAWs line up with their own mixers to the floating mixer. DP is a good example, it resizes, but none of the sizes match the floating mixer perfectly, but if the Raven software could do this too.... 2. Skins 3. iLock Cloud Support. 4. Reaper support. I feel like this could be easy, since Reaper is skin able making a specific Reaper skin to line up the floating mixer to for instance could work. 5. It seems like the Live Ravelay is missing the boat somehow. There's got to be more that can be done with Live and the Raven? but honestly owning Push 2, I never use the Live Ravelay, and I think it could be this interactive force. I'm surprised there isn't a better interface for Clips in Live with the Ravelay for instance, or some sort of XY interface or four for performing something like what Alchemy does with Live Racks and Max.

This is all possible and a resizable GUI would be awesome.. iLok cloud support would be tricky as users would probably have to pay a yearly PACE fee as it cost money every time the iLok server is pinged when opening the software. Also, users could only use the RAVEN when they have internet... We could support REAPER as V-Control Pro already has support for it, but I am not sure that people who use a free DAW will buy an expensive touch screen. As for Ableton we could add some MIDI controller options, but I don't think I could use Ableton without my RAVEN.

The comping in your 5 reasons video is pretty cool. Mostly though what I meant is no simple time saving devices for Live, but ways to use Max 4 Live and the Raven to go all the way into new territory. Simpley put the only thing that the Raven is doing better there than Push 2 is comping. The rest is possible and well implemented on Push, but touch screen X/Y devices etc, for instance are not going to be replicated on Push, on the other hand, the on screen drum pad is meh, sorry, it's just not the same experience as an AKAI or Push 2 pads etc.
Reaper is not free. It's nagware. I get people can be wary about that, but I don't know anyone who hasn't bought Reaper, even people I know who pirate everything. Considering that the Reaper community is really really into scripting, I could easily see a dedicated Reaper skin that interfaced with the Raven perfectly, and macros are a lot easier to implement in Raven.
Surprised that iLok cloud costs money. I have MidiQuest 12 and it's iLok cloud activated, Soundquest must pick up the fee for support.
The other one I'm surprised isn't in the works is Bitwig, they spent a lot of time on multitouch support for Windows and the Raven works pretty good on OS X with the Bitwig touch screen interface GUI skin, but it would seem that Bitwig could be easily coerced into getting it right on OS X and Windows without too much work?
