Hi guys
I'm really tempted by a MTI 2 to replace my mackie control universal pro but i have a few questions that I'd really like to know before shelling out!
1) I see that I have the raven mixer that works to control the ableton mixer. Can you also touch the ableton faders directly? I understand I wouldn't get the same precision but anything stopping me doing it for quick edits?
2) Same for sends? I can't see how i can control sends at present, is it just touching the send knobs direct?
3) Can I edit midi directly from the touch screen.. I.e. bring up a midi clip and touch the screen to add notes to a clip, extend/shorten notes, duplicate etc? Can I use the raven to re-size the size of the midi clip window (i.e. like dragging the window larger)?
4) I use a lot of plugins, omnisphere / diva and UAD being frequent ones...have you run into many problems controlling these direct from the screen?
5) Same with warp markers? Can I touch to add and then drag to move around?
6) Using batch commands, would it be easy to select a region of a midi track and then, for example, automate a filter cutoff midi cc sweep with a touch of a button? How about create a midi clip on a selected track with a 4x4 kick drum inserted automatically? 'm less audio engineer more electronic music producer so would use things like this more often than the bouncing/comping batch commands.
Thanks so much!! Geoff

Sorry, one more question:
7) On my mackie control there is a really nice 'flip' feature that puts things normally on the pots (e.g. ableton macro knobs) onto the faders instead...is there a way this could be done using the raven?
Thanks again

You can use single touch and touch gestures to do everything on Ableton. Control plug-in, pans, fader level, sends.
The raven mixer will bring you multitouch Faders. And the batch commands add instant plug-ins and I think there is one to add a 4X4 for groove Midi clip.
There is no flip mode the faders just control volume and pans for now.

Thanks Jamey. Are there things in ableton which are too small to touch? If so, can you give some examples please? Cheers

Thanks Jamey. Are there things in ableton which are too small to touch? If so, can you give some examples please? Cheers I haven't found any, but if there are you can just make a KeyMap or MIDI map to launch them. Or record a mouse click BC that will click the item.

Thanks Jamey. If I understand the mouse clicks right, these are x/y dependant - so if my ableton live set changes (which it would frequently by adding tracks etc) then this would not work. Assume my thinking is right here...?

Assume my thinking is right here...? You are correct, however there are a couple BCs that "Align" the window bounds of the Ableton screen, so that can be helpful.

Hi Jamey
I've just placed an order with SX Pro here in the uk...super excited now! Three more questions please to get me ready!
1) I don't own a hardware ilok but i do use a virtual ilok account (for a few different plugins). Do i need a hardware ilok for the raven to work? 2 I gather i can use a standard HDMI connection (plus the usb connection)...assume I don't need a DVI to HDMI converter cable also (I'm running a MBP with only HDMI, lightning and USB ports) 3) Please can you work on getting a sends mixer integrated too for ableton...some solution for assigning the 8 macro knobs in ableton to faders too would be great...so I can multi-touch them.
Thanks so much, Geoff

Thanks so much, Geoff 1. You will need to buy an ilok. 2. HDMI and a USB port is all you will need, plus you will need to buy a HDMI cable. 3. We are always updating the app to make it better, so the sends will be added. what do you mean by "Macro Knobs"

Thanks! Ableton uses 8 macro knobs that the mackie mcu protocol can access...I believe the raven takes advantage of the mackie mcu protocol so these should be able to be controlled in multitouch too...that would be really useful given ableton currently doesn't support multitouch natively... Thanks
