Hi Jamey and Trevor,
I've been looking at improving the way Raven can select favourite instruments / chains etc. Now that Raven can record mouse movements, this should be much easier but, due to the limitations of what is recorded, it still doesn't quite work...yet...but...
I have created a really effective work around that I'm very happy to share with my fellow Raven flock!
The easiest way for Logic to recall instruments or chains is by using the library and user channel strips but we no longer have to scroll through them all until you reach the desired strip. If you have multiple instruments, this could take forever!
Work around:
Firstly, users should save their preferred instruments as a channel strips using unique names (ideally without spaces). Then, in their BC, record a "Y" keypress (to open the library) - it may be better to reset the channel strip first (using another key command) - this could also be part of the BC.
Then (this is where you come in!) record a mouse movement to move and click in the library search bar. (I have used automator to do this, and then dropped the workflow in with my own BC script - but perhaps you could provide this really easily as part of the system files on the next update - Raven's own mouse recorded wouldn't do this properly and it would need to be specific place to move and click rather than an X,Y coordinate).
Then add the channel strip name into the BC as a Key Command. Then add a double click (again, I've had to use automator...but this is something you could include) on the file name below the search bar.
And hey presto, you have your channel strip!
For different instruments, all I have had to do is change the instrument name inside the saved BC - everything else is the same and it works fantastically...
To be able to recall instruments and channel strips quickly makes the Raven BCs so powerful in Logic.
I hope this helps!
Best,
Danny
