Hi there , I am wondering if the raven MTi can be used as a monitor for the computer as well as soon a controller for pro tools.
I am buying a new mac pro trashcan very soon specifically for pro tools 11 use ...., and I dont want to buy a monitor unless its absolutely necessary ( if I do buy a monitor id like to wait until an updated version of the apple thunderbolt2 monitor was released) ..., can I use the raven as a monitor ?

Yes!
But check the resolutions for both - there's a huge difference: Apple Thunderbolt display: 2560 x 1440 Raven MTi: 1920 x 1080
I use Apple 27" thunderbolt in addition to MTi, the monitor on the Mac Book Pro and a monitor in the studio for dubbing. Works fine.
If the money is an issue: Go for the MTi

Hi Seafoam,
Hez hit the nail on the head! No need for a monitor when you have the RAVEN. More room for gear!

Thats great news , Thanks Fez , and thanks Trevor ..., Yes money was a really big issue here ..., so yes the Raven will double up as a display monitor for me, as well as being an awesome controller - stoked also , would I be right to assume that the Raven screen is also " anti glare " ? ...., if so that would be another Bonus ...., as I like bright rooms and dont really want to have to darken the room and spend my days living like Dracula just to see the monitor.

Hi Seafoam, The RAVEN screen is not Anti-Glare. We do offer anti glare screen protectors that can be purchased for $50+ shipping. Feel free to email me if you would like to purchase one.

My question is ; How does this anti Glare screen protector affect the touch screen sensitivity and its slick feel ? ...., and what is it exactly , is it like a stick on plastic sheet ?

Hi Seafoam,
The Screen protector will come from us here in Los Angeles It does not affect the sensitivity. It has a texture similar to a matte touch screen protector, and yes it is a stick on plastic sheet. Please contact me directly at trevor@stevenslate.com and I will direct your email to set up the order.

Hi Guys,
I have a quite unusual question. I am using Logic Pro X for music production and really want to get rid off the trackpad, mouse and keyboard and I think slate offers the right alternative. I already watched some videos on the slate raven MTi 2 and money is an issue for me as well. So now I do know that you can use the slate as an external or secondary monitor in connection with PC/Mac but i'm struggling with the decision of buying a TV screen for my playstation DVD Player and other free time stuff. So if i have the slate raven can I use it in a standalone mode only as a Screen without a PC/Mac connection and instead run it with a PS3 or DVD Player like a normal TV would do? If that'll work it would save me a lot of money and would speed up my purchase decision a lot.
Best, LuiV

Best, Lui You can just plug the HDMI of the Raven directly into the PS3 and it will work as a regular 27" LED display.
