This is a different kind of issue than what I have seen described in other threads with similar subject.
I have an MTI and a 46" screen as my second monitor. MTI is connected via thunderbolt to DVI and the 46" screen is connected via HDMI.
Display Preferences are set up where the raven is my main screen (menu bar in the raven)
I use the 46" as my edit window and the MTI as my mixer/plugin control. When switch to the edit window the raven mixer hides an pro tools mixer is shown.
How can I prevent this from happening?

+1 I also want the option to lock Raven to the mixer, especially when mixing. The options could be: Lock mixer Lock mixer BC Lock mixer and mixer BC Lock edit BC

that is a very good idea.. I could see locking the mix or edit windows down but I think we will come up with a 1 Raven 1 Display solution in the future....
But for now I would suggest using the "Dual" option on Raven, as dual doesn't have a Mix/Edit button.. So the mixer wouldn't hide...

you just wouldn't be able to use the toolbar that would show up on your second screen..

I will give that a try. Will be using dual mode when our MTX MKII units get here then the MTI will be a second screen and our 46" a third screen perhaps? Wonder what that will do if I put the edit window there and use the MTI as a plugin/metering display with a toolbar that pulls up different plugin window configs. Ahhh the never ending possibilities...

If you option drag a different screen on top of another screen in system prefs it only mirrors those 2 screens.. So that should be great with 3 screens...
I guess you could also try using "Bring Mix window front" or "Bring Edit Window Front" batch commands in the general folder for switching between windows without loosing your Raven faders on the second monitor.
hope this helps

new mti user, finding this very annoying. Can you elaborate on dual mode with only one raven and another generic screen? When I tried this it indeed solved the original issue however the calibration is entirely out of whack. What to do? Very much would like to have the edit window on another screen and retain the raven internal mixer while editing. Thanks. Also... Got my mti2 today and have a dead pixel or maybe even a small clutter of dead pixels, very noticeable during calibration...Is this typical or did I get a "unique" one?

The Raven needs to be on the main screen.. AKA needs to have the Top menu Bar on its screen. You can move this menu bar in-between screens. But it should look something like this. It sounds like you are opening Raven in Dual Mode? Which is throwing off the calibration.. Dual mode is only for 2 touch screens.. For your needs just open single Raven.. I would hit up slate support about the pixels and try to get a new one.

Thanks Jamey, I do have the menubar on the raven screen and was referring to the quote above suggesting dual mode. I thought you were suggesting this as a workaround with 1 raven and another generic screen.

OK, I understand now... So when you have dual open the touch goes wild. This issue is being address, and I will look into if they have any plans to fix it..

He was talking about Dual Ravens... What you are looking for is still in the works and will be a while before there is a fix for that, but I would look into using "window configurations" to easily swapp the edit and mix window between Raven and the iMac.. here is an article on how to set them up.. slatemt.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/217371857-Pro-Tools-Window-Configurations-to-SWAP-between-multiple-monitors-

sorry jamie for the confusion, and thank you for the link...but actually i'm in the same boat as the original poster. using edit window of PT on my iMac, and MTi for my mixer/plugins....but when i click in the edit window, the raven touch overlay is hiden and protools mixer only is visible on MTi...was hoping there was a way to prevent the touch overlay from hiding because the raven display isn't the active window....

You can try using the floating mixer while you are in the edit window. The programmers are working on a way to allow this functionality with Multiple monitors, but for now it only works on Dual and Triple touch screens..

1. I have an MTi 1 which i am using as a windows display with the appropriate touch drivers(Thanks Jamey). The problem i have is when using.a second screen the calibration wants to include the 2nd screen in its calibration. Even if i start with the MTi setup OK, as soon as i open the 2nd display i lose any reasonable use of touch as i cant calibrate the screen, If i was to revert to using the Raven drivers would this still happen? Ive tried every known combination of settings to get the 2 screens to act in harmony for touch on the MTi to no avail.
I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks. Mixer V.

Hi, What is the second screen? is it another MTi1?? You need to configure composite if on Mac. Or if on Windows, you need to use the Multi-Screen Mapper.

The 2nd display is an ordinary non-touch monitor running at the same resolution as the MTi. I'm on Windows 10 x64. I'm on the Windows touch driver package not Raven. I have a PT for PC Raven licence
That's why I asked if I return to using Raven touch Software will that fix the problem or can't I use a 2nd (non Raven) monitor and maintain touch on the MTi?

Raven will work fine with as many non touch monitors as your computer can handle. Perhaps the other display was set as the main and you just didn't configure the touch driver. Here is the link to start a support ticket for the Raven.. slatemt.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=61177

FINALLY. I found a small program called Multi Screen Mapper. I hadn't realised that this was installed. I can only assume it came with MT Windows touch driver and it allowed me to configure my displays correctly.
Shame that wasn't in any documentation. That I could find anyway. I've had this expensive touch screen sitting infront of me with no touch because I wanted to use another but non-touch display along with it.
