My Slate Raven MTi2 not working as touch screen and has major UPDD issues.
After latest Windows Fall Creator update last week my Raven MTi2 and UPDD drivers aren't working.
I essentially have a giant expensive monitor in my studio.
First I noticed the Raven lost the ability to dual screen with a non touch screen monitor (which worked fine before the update from Windows), then the touch screen when I restarted the PC this weekend lost the position capability (even after trying to re-calibrate the screen the mouse pointer was always off, and I mean like a half a screen off from my finger - even after a successful calibration).
Now the latest thing is the touch screen stopped working. I tried to reinstall the Raven (v3.3) and UPDD software....now the UPDD says a key C++ Library is missing, so it asked to repair...which said it did, then said there was an error and to reinstall. So I did. No touch screen. SO tried another reinstall after wiping out the entire Raven and UPDD software and drivers....and now am getting a message that a key uninstaller/installer file is missing and it can't uninstall the UPDD software or update and to contact the provider of the software....
I attached the screen shot in a support ticket I sent to you earlier this evening.
Essentially I cannot uninstall or reinstall due to this error. The install just closes down and keeps telling me this same message and closes so the touch screen drivers never get loaded.
My studio is completely down and I need help fast before my next session. Or I may have to use this as a very expensive non touch screen monitor and a mouse...which is not what I paid for.
I use this for Pro Tools 12.8.2 and Cubase Pro 9
Note on the Install: UPDD fails on Windows 10 (creators fall update). It says the Visual C++ runtime libraries (x64 and x86) are not installed correctly. Even if I uninstall the C++ redistributable externally and allow the UPDD installer to install it, I still get the error. I can't use Raven at all now. I even tried to manually install the missing C++ which did show it installed the C++ but UPDD was still not seeing them.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated and fast I hope!

Thank you JameyZ
I will try that once I get back infront of my studio desk. Will this possibly be the fix to my issue or will I need to go further into a re-install to get functionality back?

Hi Jamey,
First off, thank you so much for the help!
Here is an update from last night.
I gave the recommendations a try last night. I did get the touch screen back to working, so good news is it is it wasn't an issue physically with the MTi2. That makes me happier.
What I did find though is the install instructions for skipping the full install and just installing the Raven Touch Screen and C++ didn't work quite as shown. If you cancel it just closes the full installation.
I did find I could go into the add/remove programs and uninstall the C++ Library, then was able to manually install it using the Windows installation download from their page. So the library is there and the newer UPDD driver was installed correctly. I do have touch screen now and the untouchable monitor is also working with the Raven MTi2 now.
One slight hitch though...the Raven Gestures and the Actually Raven Batch Command screen functions will not load. Once I open the Raven MTi software it looks as if it will load, bu the screen never fully loads (it does show it is running in the task manager but the screen never pops up beyond the load screen. This is after I click on the Pro Tools 12 option...the screen just disappears.
I can still use the touch screen to get around in Pro Tools, I just no longer have the nice Raven GUI interface and Batch command screen. There was an error message that popped up during the load the first time, but it disappeared faster than I could see what it said or get a screen shot. I am not sure if there is an area I can go to see a log file of the error....
Thoughts on what might be happening? Maybe something I need to do in setup to get this back. Again it was working before this latest update from Windows.

Sounds like RAVEN can't access the default layout folders to open one up.. Once it is opened, try loading one of your custom layouts.
