Hi,
I'm a new MTI 2 User (about 2 weeks). I am using an iMac 5k running El Capitan 10.11.6. I am using Raven 3.3 on top of Cubase 9.0.20.
I am really excited about using this display -- there are just so many things I love about it. I am in the process of trying to set it up to support my workflow. This includes looking for stock Cubase scripts, customizing existing scripts, writing my own (over 70 custom scripts) and creating custom layouts (10). There are just so many cool things, but so many things that are either not working or working inconsistently. I've been trying to work through this on my own, but I am at wit's end with some basic things I just can't get working #1 and #2 below. Here are some of the problems I'm having in somewhat of a priority order. Any help working through these things would be very appreciated.
1) I've created 10 custom panels which group stock or custom or both commands in groupings that make sense to me. I am trying to open these saved panels to an empty panel (for a different configuration) and it gives me the warning that it is not the same size as the saved panel. I've seen this problem before -- some of the stock panels say they are, for example, 8, but they are really 6. In this case, I can't open a single saved panel. For a test, I created one that was 6, saved it and immediately tried to open it in another empty 6 size and it wouldn't work. Nor can i open them in and 8 or vice versa. I just can't get it open. This, just won't work because then I can't create them and duplicate them in other setups where I want them. 2) A pretty good number of the Cubase click commands don't work -- I'm presuming they were created for Cubase 8 and not necessarily updated for 9. At any rate, I use the ones that work without issue. I've tried to create some scripts that use right click (stock doesn't work). Specifically, I am trying to create an effects channel in the sends of the Channel Window. Interestingly, my recorded right clicks work on slot 1 and slot 2, but no matter what I've tried, I can't get the recording to work when right clicking on slot 3. When I run the script, I see the mouse on the slot, but the context window won't open and the rest of the script falls apart. I'm pretty much giving up on that -- I'll just do those slots manually, I guess unless there is something that can be done to help. 3) Just about every time I open the Mix window, the Raven mixer for Cubase is not aligned with the Cubase mixer. I realign by using "Bank Left 24" until I get to track 1. This is a pain, though. 4) I do have periods where Raven crashes -- sometimes 3-4 times within an hour. This happens when I'm heavily working on the scripts, so I reboot if it keeps happening. 5) Every time I start Raven, it defaults to Cubase 8.5 -- would be nice if it would be 9. 6) Is there a way to have Raven default to a different setup -- I created versions as I was working on scripts.
There are more things that don't work as I'd expect, but I can usually work around them, eventually. It's even somewhat fun to try and make them work. But the issues above are making it difficult to get past the setup.
I appreciate in advance any help working through these issues.

I tried something else -- it didn't work, but there was an interesting result that might be helpful. I thought that maybe if I exported and then imported the batch panel, maybe that would, somehow, work around the problem. So, I selected one of my custom panels, exported it, deleted the panel and then tried to import it. I got the message below. I'm wondering whether I have the current version of batch commander loaded? Or, is it part of Raven 3.3. I can't figure out how to determine that.

This was a Cubase 9 update issue with the panels not saving the correct cubase version. Send me an email if you want to try the lastest installer with this fix.

If you want, I can get you the latest beta installer, else I can edit your Panel Batch Command to account for Cubase 9 2) A pretty good number of the Cubase click commands don't work -- I'm presuming they were created for Cubase 8 and not necessarily updated for 9. There are a couple that only work in CU8, since CU 9 got rid of the option to Tab to the track name or the Fade. So on 9 you would have to use a click. But, these work fine for me, so I wonder if there is just a alignment thing. Batch Commander for Cubase. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mZicuvfUTcTry using the "Right Click Send" Batch Command. 3) Just about every time I open the Mix window, the Raven mixer for Cubase is not aligned with the Cubase mixer. I realign by using "Bank Left 24" until I get to track 1. This is a pain, though. This is because Cubase isn't telling raven what track to bank to, so if your cubase session was last saved looking at track 96. Cubase will not send that banked info to V-Control Pro, so Raven can't know what track to show up on. Thus, it will start at bank 1. Be sure you have "Sync Project Mix Selection" Unchecked in prefs too, Or you can use the Raven External Mixer or Raven Floating Mixer. using Visibility Configuration can help too. 4) I do have periods where Raven crashes -- sometimes 3-4 times within an hour. This happens when I'm heavily working on the scripts, so I reboot if it keeps happening. I have seen an issue when using the esc Key and removing a script, but this shouldn't happen. If you can track down how to replicate we can get this fixed. 5) Every time I start Raven, it defaults to Cubase 8.5 -- would be nice if it would be 9. Just uncheck the Box "Show at Startup" 6) Is there a way to have Raven default to a different setup -- I created versions as I was working on scripts. Be sure to press "Save Layout" then overwrite the current layout so the changes are saved. Then press "Save Raven Session" to save the Ravlay, then set it as your user default.

This new installer will help your Raven Panel save issue, but I would need to see your right click recording scripts to find out why they won't work. you can find them in your user library. In order to navigate to the User/Libary, hold down the Option Modifier while clicking the "Go" tab in finder. This will reveal the User Library. Once opened, scroll to Application Support/Slate Media Technolgy/Raven/Python and send me the scripts that are in there. I can see why some will launch and other won't.

Hi Jamey,
Generally, great news! Here is an update on my problems/questions above:
1) Installed the update and now I can load new custom panels -- I can't load the ones I created before the update. That isn't a big deal -- I had a few that were loaded in my session, so I re-saved those. I can recreate the remaining ones. So, this is great. I can move forward with confidence that I can recall the panels I"m creating. 2) I realized I hadn't clarified something -- I was trying to create scripts using right click to create an FX send on the MIX channel. The right clicks you pointed out worked just fine on the project window. I just can't get those, or the ones I created, to work on 3 and below on the Mix. As I mentioned, I'm not going to keep trying on that one -- Just can't figure out the problem, but I'm not going to be hitting 3 and beyond much. If I need to, I'll go to the project window. It would just be more convenient on the mix channel. Thanks for the help here, though. 3) That video was very useful -- I couldn't figure out what to do with the visibility scripts. I like that a lot and will be using those. 4) I haven't detected a condition I can re-create. I'll let you know if I do. 5) Duh - I did that one completely backwards. Works perfectly now. 6) I haven't gotten to that one yet, but I presume it'll work. I'll let you know i have problem.
In addition, I still couldn't export a panel and then import it, even if I created it since I did the update earlier. I'm not sure why that isn't working. Not a high priority, at the moment, but could be with an update or something.
Also, when I have a moment, I'll send the scripts you asked for.
Again, thanks for your help -- you helped me quickly solve the biggest problem and I really appreciate it. Have a great night!

Those are for the "Channel Settings Window" which can be accessed in the project or mix. Its just a different key command to open it up.
As for adding sends right to the MixConsole, that probably wouldn't work since the mixer is always moving. On Cubase 8 we had the ability to TAB and SHIFT TAB to get to the effects sends in the mixer. I should reach out to Steinberg and see if they can add that back in.

Yes, I did change to the mixer keystrokes to open the Channel Window. If it is moving, that is probably why the key strokes are not working. If there were a key command to "right click" that would help, but I think I determined from other posts, research, that wasn't possible. Thanks for the follow-up and let me know i something changes from Steinberg!!

Actually, I am seeing you can still add a preset EFX send in the Channel Settings Window however you can't add a fresh EFX unless you use one of the "Right Click" Send 1 default clicks. This script adds a new Roomworks Effect to Send 3.

Yes, I was able to do that, too. I just can't add a new effect in send 3 (or above, at least last time I tried). As I mentioned, not that big a deal and, at some point, there will probably be a way.
