Hi everyone,
I'm using DP 9.13, and Raven software 3.3.
Right now, I am trying to create and add numeric keypad commands for DP for a few of my commonly used functions...
For instance -- when I try to do the numeric keypad 8 key (for auto rewind toggle) by programming a batch command, when I enter an '8-on-the-numeric-keypad' press, it just gives me a generic 8, like you'd find in the numbers above qwerty. At least I think that's what it's doing, because it doesn't work. as I was typing this, I tried to use the keypad 1 to put in the rewind command, but instead it instigates 'edit modulation', which is the command assigned to the qwerty number section. This is proof that the commands entered with the keypad default to the regular numbers.
Is there something I'm missing? Like a modifier Im supposed to be using? I'd LOVE to be able to accomplish this. I'm also trying to change as few of the commands (in DP) as possible, because I notice that Raven reinstalls their version of key commands into DP when updating (and in doing so overwrites my custom commands), so I don't want to mess with them too much. Otherwise, I'd simply do some work on the DP side to make it go.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
-Reed

Here are some Batch Commands that you can import and edit if you want certain keys. NUMPADS.ravbc (1.24 KB)

You've solved it! It needs to have the prefix 'numpad'!!
At least on my system, when you type a numeric pad value, it gives you a straight value -- instead of a value with the 'numpad' prefix in front of it. I'm using a wired extended Apple keyboard BTW. Not sure if there's a setting disabled in the system somewhere...
This is an ENORMOUS help. And great update BTW. I've gone from thinking I'd never be able to get it, to feeling like it's going to become my new way of working (pretty much with no computer keyboard), and I've had this Raven for about a year at this point! Gestures is the key to that thought!
Still a big learning curve.
Thanks Jamey!!!

So, here's another question, can I pop into a key command itself and edit the numpad by hand? I'm setting up some Raven layouts of my own. Now I'd like to have option + numpad 3. In the case of DP, this toggles the punch (auto record) button. I can't seem to get that programmed. I've gone all over and looked for settings in the OS that might not be conducive to this behavior. For example enable mouse keys in the accessibility preference pane is not on. I've tried using the clear button on the numpad. Nothing I can think of works, and google is not helping . If I could just edit it manually it'd be great, but if not, a fix for how my keyboard is not giving me the numpad value would be ideal. Thanks again Jamey!

You can change or add key commands in DP then set up BC's...

Blocking the numpads??

Thanks for following up Jamey, I meant to do this the other day and it just got away from me! Good info to know though, so I should have followed up for everyone. Jamey and I found that if you have 'Use Keyup instead of Mac OSx's built in on-screen keyboard' checked in the 'other settings' tab of the UPDD gestures app, you can't program with the number pad.
I like Keyup better in general, b/c I'm trying to go with keyboard as little as possible, but don't enable it while programming batch commands...
