Started accidentally to hijack another gestures thread, so this one is for general questions about the update. Hopefully some answers for all of us. 1. After realizing that the DP Gestures template is what I should have loaded, it dawns on me that I also own the Ravelay for Ableton Live, so switching between the two isn't any issue? I seem to have odd gestures in the DP template and wonder if it isn't because at first I at first loaded the generic Pro Tools centric template from the support article on gestures written a year ago? -Note- I reinstalled the 3.3 update to get back to square one, and because something was wrong there, I had UPDD tell me I had used up all gestures as I messed around trying to figure out gestures etc. , so it was necessary. 2. I realize it's probably due to our lower user base, but all the other DAWs have Support set up pages, explaining the commands Slate assigned to the DAW specific gesture template. Are you planning on one? I've had to reverse engineer the gestures by opening up DP's keyboard Commands menu and pretending to assign the command to have DP tell me what it does. 3. There is a repeat in my DP gestures template of the right click gesture, both "Three Finger Tap" and "Press and Tap" are assigned to that gesture. Is there a reason for this? 4. The rotate gestures? All the other ones I can see why people would want as universal gestures, (whether they work as well as the keyboard or not), but the Rotate gestures are some arcane functions in DP? "Mute Toggle Selection" I don't even? 5. "Pinch and Spread" assigned to "Zoom in and Out" does not seem to work in DP? Or at least I don't know where it would work?? So far the only application I have for it is in OSX with Preview it works there... The Live Gestures template has Zoom Screen assigned, (interestingly enough it's not explained in the Ableton Gestures Support page?), which makes more sense to me. 6. So I would like to slightly modify the DP Gestures template to fit my needs, are there any gestures that would in doing so interfere with the Raven? I don't want that pop up menu "100 touch limit expired" to pop up again.....

Be sure to close the gestures "settings" menu and reopen to see the changes of importing the new Gestures Profile. Support pages and quickstart videos are coming soon for the new gestures. 3. There is a repeat in my DP gestures template of the right click gesture, both "Three Finger Tap" and "Press and Tap" are assigned to that gesture. Is there a reason for this? That way you can right click with 3 finger or a press and tap. I prefer 3 finger. 4. The rotate gestures? All the other ones I can see why people would want as universal gestures, (whether they work as well as the keyboard or not), but the Rotate gestures are some arcane functions in DP? "Mute Toggle Selection" I don't even? You can replace these key strokes with any you prefer. We just wanted to make all of them the same for all DAWS. i.e Rotate Left will break the region and right will mute the region. Did you assign the zoom function in accessibility prefs?? Please see article on how to do this. As soon as you open the Raven MTi app it will register the UPDD Touch Driver with the computer and you will no longer get that message even if the Raven app isn't opened. This article will explain what gestures not to use, so you don't steal them from the Raven. slatemt.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/216754667-Setting-up-extra-UPDD-Gestures

Using numbers instead of multiple quotes! 3. I haven't been able to get three finger tap to work, there are settings to change the way UPDD responds to touch? Maybe I'm having a hard time getting all three fingers on the glass at the same time? OTOH I'm really fine with press and tap for right click, after playing with it enough to get it down. 4. Thanks for the clarification, I mostly compose in MIDI in DP, so that's why I'm thinking these mostly audio related commands are arcane ! 5. OK this is interesting, in Ableton Live Slate assigns "Zoom Screen" which does exactly that, works just fine here etc. In the DP Gestures Slate have assigned "Zoom in and Out" which does not zoom the screen, I haven't noticed any action it performs in DP, maybe in the Sequence editor not sure? but the only application I can get anything at all from "Zoom in and out" is Apples Preview app, it makes the pic, jpg, etc. in the app window smaller or larger.. It could be a miss-assignment? 6. That's weird I don't recall closing the Raven, but if it never happens again, I'm good. This also makes me think that for optimum use of the Raven features even if just using the computer for other things, it would be smart to have the Raven app as a startup item. That way you could assign gestures to Apples Menu items for functions you use in OS X etc. Just a huge thanks by the way for your time a patience! Glad to know the support pages and videos are coming, but I have a feeling I'll be just pointing others to them by the time they come out.

If 3 finger double click is enabled, the 3 finger click won't work. 5. Right, if DP is set to zoom in out, then you will need to hold the modifier while zooming, else change it to zoom screen, I will be sure to fix that in the gps files. 6. I have seen issues when starting Raven up before the DAW, or else that would be a great settings. Also, UPDD will still show as evaluation mode although it will not count clicks until a restart occurs.

3. That completely explains it! I like three finger assigned to zoom out, so I'll leave it as it is! Well maybe change the three finger to zoom out instead of all the way out.. Also weird, wonder why three finger click won't work???
5. Dhur! didn't think to hold down control while pinching! That's going to be awkward on some peoples setups. I'm definitely changing it to "Zoom Screen".
6. You know I thought about that, Raven software will sometimes freeze when the DAW get's opened and closed etc. I mostly open my DAW on the desktop here, so it's not a huge thing. Honestly it might force more work if I just assigned DP as a startup item! plus my blank template has a Startup Clipping with Raven in it so it's a one shot deal. If I really need to do other things closing DP isn't a huge task and the home drive is an M.2 SSD so it's fast.
Thanks again, there are odd little things here hopefully you mention in the Support page, like the three finger click not working, I really pecked around thinking I was a klutz!

Hey,
3. I will ask UPDD about this.
5. If you enable zoom in system prefs accessibility and keep the pinch zoom to Zoom Screen it should work without the modifier.
