So this is just terrible.
There is a user set up which creates danger for ones DP input routings.
IF you set up DP like I do, you have various sets of DP windows that route to the raven monitor.
And, when you want to see the DP windows, you hit the “Hide Raven button”, which HIDES Raven ad exposes the DP windows.
The problem is this scenario:
When you have DP’s “channel Strip” on the LEFT side of your windows, which, as I just mentioned, is UNDER the Raven window when NOT in use, hitting, “hide raven” results in the immediate switch to DP, which is good. The problem is one's finger is now on input routing pull down at the bottom of the DP “channel strip”.
So what happens, (here is the “terrible” part), is that hitting the Raven hide button immediately hides raven and selects the DP input pull down menu. The DP input pulldown menu just scrolls down as if a user wanted to change inputs on whatever darn channel happens to be current IN the channel strip.
Thus, if you don;t hit “esc” when the pulldown opens, you can easily CHANGE the input to some random channel . I did this several times and it sucks.
This is a terrible interfacing between DP’s ergonomics and Raven
I could send a video if you need, as it is hard to explain.
But try what I said.
This can really screw up a session if all of a sudden you’ve screwed up the input of a bunch of tracks and Auxes without knowing it.
1) Place any DP window directly UNDER raven, in the same monitor.
2) Create a left side window and select “channel strip”.
3) Hit the little Raven icon and Raven appears.
4) Hit “hide raven” and the pulldown for the channel strip will immediately open up , necessitating hitting the escape key.
PS.
This is occurring in DP 8, but I seem to recall it also happened in 9.
Please advice.
Thanks.
