I am having some issues programming BC's using mouse clicks. Shouid I stick to key commands?
Do I need to get fav plugs and use those to programming BCs?
For instance I would like to hit 1 batch command button and have it add and aux track, name it VERB, have bus 1 for input and L/R of my Apollo for output and insert a UAD EMT mono to stereo verb. I got it to do it a few times up to inserting UAD plug. It did not work with different track counts. Only on the same track it was set up on.
I can also repeatedly get the Batch Commander to Crash hitting clear all and then confirm.
Help is appreciated.

I think there are couple ways you could do it.. I think you should create a Preset Inserts chain with this UAD plug and then use the "Create Tracks" window to pull up all the configurations you want. Here is a video on how to do that.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwNRxAn_4aQAdding a plugins this way will need the inserts to be at the top, however this will make it hard to bus. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsB6aydBT-Q

I watched both of the videos and they helped. But after working for hours last night I could not get it. Yes you're right if the inserts are not at the top it becomes a Bermuda Triangle BC. So it's not the end of the world to to use the create track option and at least get an AUX with the proper routing. Then in realtime click the insert on the channel and add the desired FX. Currently I just create an Aux and then in realtime do routing and naming. If you could please write a BC that (regardless of window configuration) adds an Aux track/input bus1/output main stereo/names track VERB/ that would be helpful to me. I would then just add whatever verb in the insert in real time. It would save me a lot of mousing. Also once there is a created script where do you get back in to edit it if there is a change needed etc? thank you

I can't make it for you because my I/O settings are gonna be different than yours so will require a different number of "cursor down" etc to navigate through the menu. But if you look on layout 6 of the Basic you will see a panel that does this, you should be able to adjust the settings to make what you need, However naming will not really be possible.. There is also so more programmed on layout 5 of the advanced..

This reminds me of Dreamweaver 2 before they got the design and programming windows simplified. Now in CS 6 you just make what you want in the design window and it creates the programming code. Then you don't have to be an HTML programmer...

I don't know how to duplicate the button so I can modify it. reading manual now

Save the BC to you User Quickest by opening it and pressing "Save", or save the Ravpan to your Ravpan Quickslist, by pushing and holding the name of the Ravpan.

Thanks Jamey. I was able to modify the BC AUX BUS 1 on #5 and copy etc. I made a second BC for AUX 2 BUS by changing the 1 to a 2. (baby steps) Thanks for that tips.
So that gets me 75% there in a task I do almost everyday. I did have trouble typing a space in the menu line. I saw how the command DP CLICK Assign... etc. but I could not type a space so I just had to copy commands from the BC. How do you type a space in the menu line with doing all caps with caps lock on?
I could not find a way to assign a UAD plug and Name the track from the Create Tracks Window? The DP plugs are in default on the "Command Shift C" Create Tracks window. But I don't understand how I would get the UAD plug menu. I also don't see a way to name the channel strip or track.
So to get to the next level on BC seems I need to learn the programming language. Are the terms and language in the manual?
I can assign key commands in DP and use those in BC for instance Quantize Pitch I needed to make a command for even though clear pitch had a default key command.
So many of the preset DP BCs do not work because the window sets are dynamic on DP compared to PT or Logic.
Am I wasting my time on things like naming and adding certain plugs? I saw a tutorial where you were doing UAD plugs. Where is that?
I've added a 2nd rack of all BC buttons and hope to fill it with useful BCs. The few I added today are a helpful and things I do all the time.
I appreciate you answering the obvious questions.

To add a space. Just hit "Key Command" to create a blank action then type "Spacebar" This will add a space.
If you want to recall a preset along with the aux, just add the UAD plug to the aux and save the channel strip settings. Then you will be able to recall this preset from the Create Tracks window.
Be sure to watch the BC quick start video to find out how all the BCS work and how to program your own.

Thanks Jamey... I'll give it a shot today. Yes I have watched the video and read the manual a few times lol... a little slow here learning the language... For instance when a BC script says "DP CLICK " is that a mouse click action on the designated area? Is there a manual or support thread that has a list of the programming terms and their functions?

I understand now how to name plugs, saving and copying tabs, groups, racks, customize, copy scripts and do some basic programming. Thanks for walking me through.
I still can't figure out how to Type CAP words then a space? Is this something that can only be done in Quicklist Preset names?
End up with duplicates in default manufacturer name for plug. Example "UAD" EMT 250 PLATE "UAD" COOPER TIME CUBE (Only one start with UAD)
In the create tracks window there is not a option to name the track being created. Is there a way to name the track in the script? ie when I add a aux with uad emt plate I would like the channel to be named VERB. How would you go about that? Or is it best to just name it in the mixer or tracks window?
Thanks again for all the help. I'm stoked to have two racks of BCs filled with tasks I do consistently.

You would program like this Hit Key Command Shift U Hit key command again Shift A Hit key command again Shift D
However, if typing to go through sub menus, Caps shouldn't make a difference.
