First off, folks rarely post good things about an app so before I get into my laundry list, thank you Steven and Slate. I am happy to have this new toy.
And now the list:
Raven issues:
*** V Control shows NO sign of being on or off. I have already had one instance where I launched V control, then Dp, only to have Raven want I need to launch V control. It would help a lot if there was some sort of indication whether or not V control was launched so I don;t have to wait for a full load of a DP mess file to find out it did not launch.
****DP has the ability to automatically LAUNCH any app a user wishes upon start up. This is a special command within DP. I think users should be advised to use that auto lunch feature to launch the raven session file that goes with any given song. This eliminates the need to manually launch a Raven session to go with a DP session.
****I have not been able to successfully make a batch command for “transpose”. When I “record” my maneuvers, the resultant automation when running the command types 22 instead of 2, or 44 instead of 4, etc. I think batch command can have more tutorials as it gets a bit confusing when real world DP locations and multistep processes come into play. It seems like what I want to do is a combination of pre sets and recorded maneuvers. I haven't quite got it down yet so advanced tutorials that show us how to record maneuvers into a variety of DP sub menus would be helpful. Im sure Ill figure it out eventually. The only thing bumming me now is the transpose command which I can quite get.
****In floating mixer. DP manual shows pan amounts. In reality, the floating mixer shows NO pan amounts.
****DP “save” button is too dangerous and could lead to accidental saves. A user should have to hold it down for a few seconds to “save”. just like the Rave “close” button works. At least make this user programmable. Otherwise, one can very easily “save” accidentally. Un unwanted “saves” can really screw things up.
*** Certain Batch commands appear to not work or go to wrong menus inside DP.
It must have something to do with the commands list in DP and my plug ins list? but there is no way to easily know what commands RAVEN is attempting to access so I can help or fix things. If a user wants to search for custom commands that are blocking the Raven, how does one go about this?
On one, “instant reverse”, I was able to finish the last command and it worked the next time. On another, “pitch down12, I could not get it to work, it just got lost.
*** Customize toolbar could be programmed to automatically nudge icons over to make room for things. When dragging a set of icons into the toolbar, the program does not move the icons over a little bit, even though there is room for them in a given space. If any pre-existing icon even slightly encroaches on the space needed for a new icon, “customize toolbar” is not smart enough to move it over a little. Instead, the user must manually nudge any pre existing icon to make room for additional icons, palettes.
Also, something is screwy with “Save Layout”. If a user loads a layout that does not have the “save layout” icons in that layout, that user can no longer change layouts without customizing toolbar to bring “save layout” back into one of the user racks for selection. There has to be a more intuitive way to allow for the loading of a layout when the “save layout” icons are not in a rack.
**** Batch command panel size- I started adding my own custom commands and it was disappointing to not be able to dictate the size of the panel. I wanted to make the panel into an 8 command panel, up from 4. Real world ergonomics dictates this should be expandable upon user request.
*** Had several crashes of Raven when trying to edit a blank button in iPhone “Slate remote”.
*** Why is there a “bite gain down 3 db” and NOT a “bite gain UP 3 db” pre set made?
***There is no way to change one’s mind once you erase what is on a batch command button. You end up holding the button down, going into all the batch command windows and if you change your mind and don’t find what you need, your only choice is to “confirm”.etc. No Cancel command? why?
**** I would love to see the batch command buttons in a command block be made move-able, so I can just grab them and group them how I want instead of having to re program the block from deep inside.
*** When I have any screen that has a lot of white in it on the Raven monitor, I hear a slight buzz in my studio monitors.
